Number 5 was iffy between D and E for me too but I chose the right answer. But the one I got wrong on this passage was #3. I was stuck between B and C and chose the wrong oneetramak wrote:Was it number 5? Gonna do some light drilling every day until Saturday and hope for the best on that fateful morning. Woke up at 11 today but I'll try to wake up at 645-7 the rest of the week. The tokens passage wasn't as hard the second time around but god dammit those questions were still difficult.

That helps a lot! I have been going into all the NA Qs assuming (what's that saying about assume again?) that the flaw of the stem is always in the way the conclusion is supported without realising that the flaw might be that there simply support!34iplaw wrote: Yeah - I understand. I think one thing to do is make sure you get what the conclusion is actually stating. I think the trickiest ones are where the NAs are technically SAs as well. They aren't that common, but they do have them from time to time... i.e.
premise: A
N/A:
conclusion: B
in this case, a necessary assumption could be A->B whereas it is also a sufficient assumption.
There are also somewhat tricky ones where there isn't actually evidence given in support of a position, so the NA is the evidence in support of that position. This typically happens in comparative stims. There's one about hairless dogs that's a pretty good one that (I think it's a necessary question) illustrates this concept.

My regular handwriting is an odd mix of printing and cursive so I'm just gonna go with that.appind wrote:I am not sure if it matters. i have written in cursive all my life and am very slow with print, so i go cursive.34iplaw wrote:Then you're good to go. Tbh, knowing myself, even if I get no sleep the night before I'll be fine, so long as I get lots of sleep in the previous nights. The test is so early that you wouldn't get super tired until noonish.
Anyone know about writing in cursive vs. print? Doesn't really matter I somewhat assume? Granted, writing cursive with a pencil can sometimes kind of suck.thatlawlkid wrote:I'm pretty sure no one will even be able to read whatever it is that i write for the prompt. Thanks to a healthy dose of public school and that whole "no child left behind" my handwriting looks like a drunk bug covered in ink ran around the page.
Also...I'm a lefty. They do not want me to write completely in cursive in pencil as a lefty. Not if they want to see something other than smudges.

I think if I leave the test center feeling anything but amazing, I'm gonna preemptively register for December.

Went from 167 on PT77 two days ago to 162 on PT78 today.
Just gonna review, try not to think about it, and rest. I've reached my target score (166) a few times while PTing, but I still have this nervous feeling wondering if I should just wait until December, but I really don't want to wait that long to apply and continue to study for this test (this week is going to be my third time taking it).

I can't do both this week and December because this week will be my third time. I think I would just apply with the numbers I have at that point instead of waiting another cycle.thatlawlkid wrote:No reason you can't just go for both. as a 4th time taker i should not have assumed. I am sorry good sir. I'd say December. lock down the better score. The other cycle will always be there if the apps dont come out how you'd like.studyingeveryday wrote:I can't do both this week and December because this week will be my third time. Tho that's an impressive LR score. LR may be the one section I've actually gotten worse on.

Is it worse to stress thinking about LSAT or have a persistent job-related stress that constantly diverts one from thinking about LSAT?
i'd prefer worrying about and thinking about lsat.

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
I wish I had a better reason than just saying that I really, really don't want to study for this test again, man. It's my third time going through all the material and I'm pretty tired of it. I think I'd rather accept not going to a T14 than facing this test again. As I say that though I also know the payoff of waiting and maybe getting a chance for T14 would be much greater. Aghhh. I have gotten around my target a few times so maybe I should just take and hope for the best? But then...thatlawlkid wrote:as a 4th time taker i should not have assumed. I am sorry good sir. Also, I've never done this badly on RC before, so maybe it's just burnout from studying all day yesterday?

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
Extremely happy. Took my last 2 practice tests today back to back.
PT75 (first test): 174/-6 (-5 would've been a 176)
LR1: -2
LR2: -1
LG: -1 (arrgghhh misbubbled from testbook to answer sheet)
RC: -2
PT78 (second test): 178/-3
LR1: -1
LG: -1
LR2: -0
RC: -1
Absolutely shocked that I went -1 on PT78 RC. I spent the first 22 minutes on passages 2+3 (I always do comparative last) then basically just went with my gut on all the questions in the science passage to finish on time. Finished PT78 LR2 in 22 minutes. Finished both LG sections in ~28 minutes so VERY upset that I missed a question on both of them.
Was gonna take PT77 tomorrow but I think I'm happy calling it good and just leaving that as unexhausted. I'm done for today. I've cut out all of the questions I've missed in the past two months from drilling LR. Gonna do all of those tomorrow + drill maybe 5-10 RC passages and 5-10 games. Friday I'm just gonna do a couple hours of games and call it good.

Just did an LG section, -1 in 22 minutes.
Y'all are scaring me with these crazy high scores. I feel like I peaked too early.

Going against advice I did PT77 today after having a nice skate session in the morning. Still did about the same. The last question of each RC passage always seems to be a bit tough. I missed every one D: I surprisingly got all the questions in game 3 correct even though I felt I only had a vague idea of what I was doing. lmao.
PT77
LR: -7
AR: -2
RC: -6
Score: 167
Wish I had that zen master insight that gets y'all consistent 17X scores. oi.
