Phenomenal job...jagerbom79 wrote:Crushed it! You are going to make this test your bitch Satproteinshake wrote:just got done scoring PT 78:
Score 175
LR -2
LG -0
LG -0 (experimental from PT 73)
LR -1
RC -2 (both on Tokens)
pretty much every single one of the tests I used studying for this were retakes from PTs a year ago and I was hoping those 175s weren't just a result of having seen it before, and now I know it's not! ready to crush this thing Saturday

once you notice you have 8 minutes or less left, just move on. it's never worth it to continue on a passage you aren't even confident about. I just chose what looked the best and kept it moving. but yes it was hard to finish, I had 6 minutes for the 4th passage but I managed to read it in 2 minutes so I had 4 mins for the questions.TheMikey wrote:fuck 78 rcappind wrote:

protein, how long does it usually take you to read a passage, on average?proteinshake wrote:once you notice you have 8 minutes or less left, just move on. it's never worth it to continue on a passage you aren't even confident about. If I had a good 5 mins on the last one, I could have done it's 5qs as the psg was really easy. It's just that the high art and token psg together took me like 25 mins.proteinshake wrote:once you notice you have 8 minutes or less left, just move on. it's never worth it to continue on a passage you aren't even confident about. easier passages take 2.5 minutes and harder ones take 3. most questions take 30-45 seconds and the harder ones take a minute (usually the ones that have really long answer choices).appind wrote:and how much to answer qs?TheMikey wrote:protein, how long does it usually take you to read a passage, on average?proteinshake wrote:once you notice you have 8 minutes or less left, just move on. it's never worth it to continue on a passage you aren't even confident about. I recorded myself doing 78, so now I am gonna go look back at the recording to see how much time it took me on each psg and it's parts

just think of it this way: 27 questions. if you took a minute per q, you'd have 8 minutes divided by 4 passages = 2 minutes a passage. that's not enough time for most of us, so you HAVE to make sure you're averaging less than a minute per question if you want to get it all done.

Exact same thing happened to me on that PT. Don't let it screw with you too much.ashrice13 wrote:finished 78. It was my worst score in a month and a full 4 points lower than my current average. Sooooo...that's awesome. I'm just hoping that since it sucked for everyone else too it's an outlier and not indicative of lowering skills. I have been PTing less lately to counteract any potential burn out leading up to the test and now I'm wondering if it had a negative effect on me.
On the bright side...I did well on LR which is reasonably different on the newer tests so good to know it didn't throw me off.

I think it's helping me feel like I have some degree of control over the situation. and I'm feeling rusty af on LR right now and I wanna get that patched up before game day (or at least give myself the illusion that I have...proteinshake wrote:you guys study a lot! 3 LR sections and then games and passages?! just do a PTjagerbom79 wrote:Trying to do the same mate!
