Anyway, my section averages for LR is roughly -3/4 per section (ideally this would be <=-2 per section), and LG fluctuates between -0 and -2 (probably 4 exams at -0 or -1 for every -2). I'm looking for recommendations on where to focus these last 3 weeks. I feel like I have the largest opportunity to earn some points back in LR, which would mean foregoing additional LG practice/drilling. I think focusing on LR and ignoring LG is justified since at best I could save 2 points with LG improvements, whereas there are still up to 8 points on the table in LR. I used to be consistently -0 at LG but after spending the last 4 months doing LR and RC exclusively, some of the common stupid mistakes will bite me in the ass. Surprisingly I have 100% accuracy on the substitution rule questions, so it really is just mistakes on my part, not particularly the “tough” questions. Any opinions?
I am in a similar spot as you. I wouldnt drop LG completely but just back off of it and focus more on LR/RC. When im not PTing and reviewing or drilling I will focus more on LR at the start and majority of the day and in the evening when im tired or its a day being hungover or just out of it for one reason or another I will drill LG, because I feel like I have to be less focused for LG since its more of a game and kinda fun.
I havent been able to get under my -4 hump consistently yet, so I cant swear to the old gods and the new (Ha) that what i am doing is the best strategy, but as far as weights on focusing on certain sections i think my strategy is the best approach. You want to keep making your strengths as sttrong as you can. Think of it like working out. Just because your chest is your strongest muscle group doesnt mean you just stop doing bench and do arms everyday all day etc.
