Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS
Hey, I am not looking to spam the thread. I am a 3L and have been doing LSAT tutoring for about 5 years. TLS posters in the past have been great tutors for me (even better than me). The energy and passion to get people to study and do the work is the key. It's common on TLS and not as common elsewhere.
My group, LSAT Wiz (http://www.lsatwiz.com) also does something different by charging students less than 1/2 of the other companies while paying the tutors 200% of Kaplan and Princeton Review. If you're interested in earning some income, please PM me. The students pay $60ish an hour, we pay income tax and your $35/hr salary. All lessons are at least 2 hours.
Cambridge LSAT supplies our materials, and we teach an easy to grasp system. We need people to get the February and June tests up and running ASAP!!
There's no non-compete or any BS like that. You can work for anyone else simultaneously. Teach the methods we train you in. WDGAF. Our goal is for our tutors to become the best and get all experience necessary. Most of our tutors go onto T-14 and then big law, and thus leave us lonely and crying. Hence, the vacancy. Just don't try to steal our students or anything. We're even happy to help our tutors self-enterprise and grow out. We pay $70 per two hour lesson (all lessons are 2 hours).
This is strictly a freelance part time opportunity. You will have to have a 170+, and will have to be able to explain things to people who function much slower than you. You'll also have to be reliable with text, and can be weird but not "scary weird". You also can't hit on the students, not going through that again.
If you're interested, PM. If not, run along, frolic and prosper.

175 PT average 168 on this one, anyone think there's a decent shot at Cornell / GT with a 168 3.45?

Thanks, I'll probably end up retaking in June for the hell of it, but might throw out some apps this cycle just to test the water I suppose. Also, congrats on your score Rigo.Dirigo wrote:Yeah for sure. The mystery surrounding the feb test is off putting to me haha. Fair point though I'll probably forgot all this crap by June might require some reconsideration.Big Red wrote:yeah, but if you're PT average was 175 why not retake in Feb?Puffin wrote:175 PT average 168 on this one, anyone think there's a decent shot at Cornell / GT with a 168 3.45?

I have a feeling you'll get it. Now I'm wishing I had one more take left lol. I've somehow gone from being ecstatic about my score to being disappointed I didn't do better. HYS why must you be out of my reach?Dirigo wrote:Thank you. How often does LSAC grant a 4th test and what usually has to be the situation? I'm contemplating taking it a 3rd time just for more $$$ (all my acceptances will be in by then) but I dont wanna be locked to this cycle necessarily

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS
I've found that beating myself up over stuff is stupid. Yes, I was and still am gunning for UVA with what I was hoping would be a 170+ LSAT to compensate for my 3.2GPA, and now I have a 165 (still an a solid improvement from my 158 in September), I understand I have a slim shot but its not the end of the world, UVA is going to be a reach with my GPA regardless. I too am disappointed and surprised that I dropped 8 in LGs where I rarely drop more than 1 or 2, but it is what it is.
If I don't get in anywhere I'm happy going that matches up with where my wife gets into med school, than I'll take another year off and retake. I'm 25, whats another year?
Mike

Great attitude, LS isn't going anywhere and apps keep declining. Who knows, maybe medians will be even more forgiving next cycle.mike0331 wrote:I've found that beating myself up over stuff is stupid. we definitely need someone in Long Island asap if anyone has availability, scored high and isn't too sick of the test yet to tutor it (I've found you have a 2 year window till you hate it)!AReasonableMan wrote:Hey, I am not looking to spam the thread. Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS
How much of an advantage do you think you have by taking the June test over the October test? Does adcom even accept that many people/give out a lot of $ in Sept and mid Oct? I want the summer to go really hard in the paint studying with 7sage and don't want to balance studying full time with my last semester of UG.

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS
Apologies for what seems like a FAQ, but I can't seem to find an answer through my own googling.
When entering LSAT scores on the "Standardized Testing" section of the apps themselves, am I required to put both of my LSAT scores, or can I just put the higher of the two?

they have those? I thought the scores were automatically submitted. Of my 7 or 8 apps, I don't think I've had to enter my score once.ub3r wrote:Apologies for what seems like a FAQ, but I can't seem to find an answer through my own googling.

Yeah, it seemed weird to me too. Not sure why they'd ask you to self-report as well.ilikebaseball wrote:they have those? I thought the scores were automatically submitted. Here's what it looks like. This one is for Columbia, but it's not just the T14s that have asked.

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS
Over the weekend I've been submitting apps. I had to manually enter my December score, even though my september score was auto filled into the application. It might be that the December scores haven't completely updated in all parts of the LSAC system.ilikebaseball wrote:they have those? I thought the scores were automatically submitted. I would enter all available scores on your application, even if you had to click the add lsat button.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
