Is there any chance (historically) that they'll release scores before July 1?

80k for a single 20something is entering yuppy territory in the majority of the country, though it's obviously relative. Not being single with kids, 80k will go much quicker (as I've seen in close family.)

Jon Denning from Powerscore noted that both the June 2014 & 2015 scores were released 6 days early (!), so it's possible. Unlikely, however, since the trend in the past six releases has been no more than 2 days early.

http://blog.powerscore.com/lsat/bid/153 ... -2004-2016 So 7 times, it's come out before the 1st, but for all but two of those times, the slated release was already in June.

It stands for young urban professional, though it's loosely used as a term for a young professional that has a good job and enjoys a more plush lifestyle than most can afford at that age.

80k is enough for me to live like a king. I'm single. 25. have an excellent job. max out my retirement account. invest on my own. still am saving money. own a house (found a sweet deal on a place - 1600 sq ft house with a double garage for $430 a month mortgage - put 25% down out of grad school). That being said, it's because I live in Alabama. Everything here is cheap.

I'm not going to LS because of money.
You max out your 401k and your IRA?

Sticker and probably with interest. Keep in mind I'm going to school part time to keep my job so that I can afford my mortgage and afford to pay 1/3-1/2 tuition each year so that significantly impacts my LS debt I'll have. Plus I live in DC so property prices are insane...

I am curious why scores for the June LSAT are not not released in the same month. Do they have to wait for people who take the LSAT overseas which has to be shipped all the way to Newtown, PA? If it were digital like the GRE you could find out right then whether or not you have to retake. There would be no waiters thread if this were the case.

because the june lsat is usually the 2nd weekend in june. not the first weekend or last weekend of a month.

401k yes, IRA no b/c I have a relative who is a fiduciary who helps me with other investments.

May put money into IRA after my raise this year

I am only technically in Virginia by a hair. Very near 3 borders.
1 mile from NC, 30 from TN, 80 from WV.

OR I've already done all the research via:
Running all the numbers and scenarios on school admissions probability for my numbers, what I'm targeting based on the score I got 11 years ago which I know I scored better than, and researching the costs of PT school for each school I'm targeting based on a 4-6 year attendance for part timers.
Ran multiple debt and interest scenarios on each LS I'm targeting to identify debt based on my income and expenses and projected the costs and can do the comparisons.

Really? Laughing in this forum of neurotic people you don't find it possible that we've applied this to the rest of our lives and can talk about it even in theory? -_-

Any new hobbies??

I want to join some language classes, and brush up on some that I speak.
I haven't played golf in about three months, and I haven't done much pleasure reading lately, so I plan to make up for lost time in both areas. I don't know if anyone is into military history, but I plan on dedicating my newfound free time to finishing the last book in Rick Atkinson's Liberation trilogy. I read an Army at Dawn over Christmas break, and used The Day of Battle as a reward after powering through LSAT homework, so I'm excited to wrap it up.
I really enjoyed Three Armies on the Somme, and have been deeply invested in Blitzed and KL for the last few days, on a side note, do you know if Golf is still a big thing for upper-class recreation? Should I learn how to golf if I'm gunning for biglaw?
Your career is pretty much in the toilet if you can't golf. I would go ahead and become well versed in polo, croquet, and squash as well. I've heard you can't even interview with a V5 unless your golf handicap meets their cutoffs.

In all seriousness; I don't think it matters. I grew up in a decidedly middle-class house hold, and didn't learn to golf until I started playing at a public course with a friend of mine in high school. My only professional training was a golf class in college, but I really enjoy playing when the weather is nice. I don't think any Biglaw associates have time to golf, especially in NYC.
