Important question: How many pencils are y'all planning on bringing?
I just bought a new pack of black ticons today. Im going to bring an arsenal and bring like 12 lol. Probably not necessary but i like writing with freshly sharpened pencilsAlexandros wrote:Got through another LG set, and a LR set. Important question: How many pencils are y'all planning on bringing?
I use one per section on LR and RC and two on LG, so if I get an experimental games section that's seven. Figure two more for the essay and a few spare and they come in boxes of a dozen anyway, so twelve. Last time I took an extra box of pencils and a sharpener and left them on a table outside the testing rooms with a sign that said "help yourself." They were gone when I got out, so I don't know if a janitor took them or some poor unprepared soul needed them.Alexandros wrote:Important question: How many pencils are y'all planning on bringing?
I don't like my pencil too sharp, especially for games, so I typically have two pencils that are like my preferred sharpness for that in case LG is first. Otherwise, I'll probably just use the same one from the preceding section. If not, I'll just tap the tip off.Shemp wrote:I use one per section on LR and RC and two on LG, so if I get an experimental games section that's seven. I'm switching from Triconderogas to regular black Ticonderogas this time.

That sounds like a solid plan. Think I'm gonna shoot for like 12 too - maybe a few more to be safe. I've been using Staedtler noricas and my only complaint is that some of them tend to break a hell of a lot, so I wanna be prepared for that.jagerbom79 wrote:

Black Ticons are the move! Much nicer than regular ones. Yeah I use 2-3 per section... I forgot about the essay so Ill prob just bring the box because I can. Rather have plenty than not enoughAlexandros wrote:Shemp wrote:I use one per section on LR and RC and two on LG, so if I get an experimental games section that's seven. I should probably determine how many pencils I want/need per set - I think I've switched during RC a few times before because my underlines had gotten too thick.

I would make sure to consistently work on LR and LG, but more LR because there is more questions there that you are getting wrong. I would start drilling MBT and Assumption questions because I think those have a very systematic way about going about them and are pretty much the foundation of all LR. When you can confidently crush those question types you will prob experience gains in other question types as well.speedwagon wrote:I am at the point where I am not sure what to do to wring the last few points out of this thing. Curious how you all are applying the final touches. I would really appreciate some feedback:
My options:
- slow sections of LRs although right now I go -1 or -0 with no time restrictions (and ~-6 with time pressure on)
- more LG sections to hopefully get a little faster and -0 on the qs I do get to (I usually have to skip 1 or 2 to get to everything + miss 1 or 2 - when I'm lucky I get it and do well but the LSAT casino is not in my favor here)
- fast LRs to try and triumph per above
- PT although I am guessing that is the wrong choice v. timed sections.
Just finished PT75 and it was totally consistent:
-7 LR
-0 RC
-4 LG with 2 qs skipped
7sage says I am worst in the LR department at weakening qs, point out the flaw qs, and must be trues/required assumptions - which I have been over again and again in the PS review and the Trainer and feeling stalled out on. I continue to get it down to 2 and pick the wrong one, even when I change my strategy to "pick one, and then do the other one" to try and circumvent it. This is not just on the hardest qs which is really extra frustrating.
Right now I'm at a reliable 169 and really hope to squeeze out a few more points. Unsure where it makes the most sense to invest. Your feedback/experience is v much appreciated.
(PS: Ticonderoga 4ever but maybe my problem is I don't switch pencils enough? I am so impressed with y'all here.)

As much as I think that it's a good method and will definitely work consistently, I almost certainly don't have the balls to do it...especially considering that it will make by balls shrink pretty much into non-existence.proteinshake wrote:good way to wake yourself up in the morning: finish your last 30 seconds in the shower on the coldest setting (not the best feeling at 6:30AM).

I think its just one year for me, but I'm going for the good old-fashion "4th time is the charm" take. Really hoping to break 170 and fulfill my destiny as a splitter.Shakawkaw wrote:How are you!?
