2 ppl I know irl just withdrew from tomorrow's test to take Dec instead. I'm curious to see what the final number of test takers will be. I remember reading on a thread somewhere that Spivey said the drop in Sept registration was 8-10%, but I feel like there'll be even more ppl withdrawing tonight/cancelling tomorrow.

I'm so excited for a low number!! June's big decrease was surprising so a big September decrease in addition to June will be AMAZING!

Why is this a good thing? =\

Less LSAT takers less applicants you're more desirable.

I hope this trend continues onto next cycle! At least that's when I'm hoping to apply...
Just a thought... I already have my LOR's and transcripts in...the only thing left for me is the LSAT and PS. How long does it usually take for one to have a complete PS? The thought of applying in early January doesn't sound so bad either!

I was thinking of switching to this cycle, too...but I feel like I'd rather relax and have a lot more time to write/perfect my PS than rush it. Since summer is slow in law, I'll have all of next summer to hash everything out (and get insight from some non-busy lawyers), whereas I could only do it at home if I applied in Jan and all my attorney's are busy so they wouldn't be as inclined to read over it. Hmm...still sort of debating.

I'm thinking of switching to next cycle too. I'll see how I feel in December/January.

Thanks! Yeah, it really comes down to the December score. But you're right, I think 3 weeks is plenty of time to write and refine the PS. I suppose if I approve into the 160's in my prep course I'll think more about it. :3

Caveat: Scorers with 170+ are applying at greater rates than they did in the past couple years.
On balance though, it's still easier to get admitted than every before. Your numbers carry you a lot further these days.

That's still awesome. I'm excited to study for hours upon hours and knock December out of the park! Hopefully this means that not many schools are being snobs about averaging.

Also, there is a lot of talk about LSAT in here and no one seems to say anything about GPA. It seems like a difference of .2 in GPA (3.6 v. 3. isn't as meaningful as one point on the LSAT. Is that not true and I'm just thinking that because people just can't change GPA? Thoughts?

I didn't know high LSAT is so rare with everyone in this threat shooting for a 170+. But that makes sense.

GPA matters but high GPA's are very common, whereas high LSATs are rarer.
In a vacuum, 3.8 is better than 3.6.
But a 3.6/170 is, on balance, more desirable than a 3.8/167 to many schools.

Ugh. Screw GPAs. I started college my Junior year of high school and hate that my 3.3 from then is included with my 3.7 from ugrad. I have like a 3.49 LSAC GPA. AND it's really all because I got like a 1.0 my first quarter when I was 16. UGHH. But I do plan on writing an addendum. But as I said: Screw GPA.

I'm so thankful I went to community college and then a state school. High GPA and no big undergrad loans. So happy I didn't go to Amherst or Vassar after all because I probably would be rockin' a 3.2

As I said earlier, a few classes I took before the army, three years before starting college, will lower my GPA significantly. It's such BS.

My CC gpa didn't carry over to my 4 year college.
However, your CC GPA is calculated into your LSAC GPA.
So your LSAC GPA (the one schools consider most) will likely be higher than your school GPA, which is very good news.

My school GPA is 3.89, but my LSAC GPA is 3.93. Law schools will care about the 3.93.
Many people unfortunately have the reverse problem. They graduate with a high GPA but LSAC takes into account rinky dink CC classes they failed in high school, so their LSAC GPA is unfortunately much lower.
