Well, a few points:JackelJ wrote:The worst part is I'm probably turning down an almost 6 figure job after graduation to go into debt for law school. 1. You don't know that you'll be going into debt for lawl school.
1a. You'll rock the LSAT and you'll get a Hamie/Rubie/etc.
2. You have the rest of your life to work for the proverbial "Man." Follow your dreams! (LSAT_dreaming call out).
3. I turned down big lawl for my public interest job and I love it. Money isn't everything. Especially if you have a sugar daddy (GT call out).
Let me know if you need help acquiring a sugar daddy (Smalls call out).

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
I went to a café laptopless for a couple of hours and actually got werk done.
My BR of yesterday's PT went from -7/174 to -3/179. I will never know how to RC. Is TCR to try to fix your RC skills just to do as many passages as possible? Is there some secret RC foolproof method that I don't know about?

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
Business lesson 1: Individual investors rarely outperform the market and oftentimes behave and invest irrationally. However, no matter the irrationalness of all the individual investors they all combines together to create a very efficient and intelligent market that knows things months before individuals know these things. There have been case studies. Trust the market (aka hivemind) and not individual investors (Although maybe your that lucky investor that outperforms and knows better or something others don't idk)Dirigo wrote:I've never understood noobs who think they know better than the hivemind--especially a hivemind who is advising smart and capable applicants who have options beyond law school.gamerish wrote:I've never understood the TLS hivemind notion that just because someone is applying to law school means they're capable of getting an MBA from a school worth going to, of which there are very arguably fewer than worthwhile law schools.Shakawkaw wrote: Enjoy.
Watch yoself GYG or you'll be backseat banned like Zac.
eta: not supporting whether users on TLS should go or not go to business school. just supporting that I think there is some strength behind the hivemind of some communities such as this

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
I don't put much faith in the TLS hive mind. Spend enough time here and you'll end up advising people even though you're a completely average 0L who got all your relevant knowledge from other TLS posters who may in turn just be parroting other posters. I know I've contributed to the echo chamber by uncritically repeating things I've read here, and I bet many of you have too.
If people back up their claims with some sort of objective facts, then I'll listen, but otherwise there's a very real danger that they're just parroting others' unfounded claims, following some trend started by a popular megaposter, etc. The "go to b school / just do mckinsey bro" meme has been picking up steam ever since Voyager came back to brag about becoming a business exec.
From what I understand, b school is best for extroverts who are good at math and / or already have connections. There are plenty of people on TLS who don't fit that profile and would be better served by law school.
