Re: The Official September 2014 Study Group
Score fluctuations are normal and yours aren't that extreme imo. RC is a crapshoot I would just drill sections and review. Is your issue timing? If you're getting 168+ with 10 to 14 wrong on RC perhaps you should just focus on completing 3 passages with as much accuracy as possible.tommypickles wrote:Long time lurker here.
My past few scores have been:
57 - 170
59 - 168
61 - 170
62 - 173
63 - 165
64 - 173
66 - 166
68 - 169
My scores keep fluctuating lately like crazy and I don't know what to do. My biggest problem is reading comprehension where I will usually end up up missing 5-7 and sometimes get lucky with 3-5 wrong. But then on other tests it'll be between 10-14 wrong. Any suggestions to help improve reading comprehension? 60s RC is hell.
My GPA is a 3.9 and I would really like a 170 or above to have a shot at a T6 school.

Re: The Official September 2014 Study Group
I shot awake this morning at 5:00am, couldn't get back to bed, so I decided to take PT67. I didn't do any of my usual pre-PT things (no warmup, not even coffee), but I scored my personal best! RC -0/LR -1/[RC PT40 -1]/LG -0/LR-3 for a 177! The RC I thought was easy, and the LG was ok until the zones game, which I fortunately had the time to deal with. My problem with LR is that how easy or hard I feel a section is isn't a great predictor of how well or poorly I'll do.
I'm not sure what I can take away from this (mainly I'm wondering if I can somehow recreate this fugue-like state during test day), but for now at least I'm going to go back to bed.

the only time I tried that (take a PT pre-coffee) I scored my personal worst (well it was a tie w/when I took one after 8 hrs at the office)

I took a PT on Vicodin last spring. In retrospect, it wasn't the smartest use of a PT. But I did pretty decently on it anyway.

In both cases (and on 62 for that matter) I actually dropped below my (semi-cold) diagnostic so I decided not to try that againsmccgrey wrote:I have never done either of those things. The worse is when you're reviewing a PT and read the question you got wrong (especially with RC) and can get the answer right without looking at the answer sheet or skimming over the passage before going over it... so frustrating I can get questions right when quickly looking at the question but not when I'm taking the actual test and referring to the text. -_-

I hate RC with a passion. I'll totally understand some passages and even before I get to the questions I'm sayin to myself "im ab to make ya my bech" and I get gaped in the butthole but then other times I'm like "da fuck is dis shit" and get a 0 with a tight butthole

Let me just say about PT 72... I still hold to this day that it has the hardest LR I've seen. Just one of the sections though. The other was was okay.

I have Kaplan 180(2008)/Premier(2014) that I'm going to go through this week/weekend. What's everyone think about it?
edit: Am I better off just drilling and sticking to PT's 69-72 or should I throw it in on review/drill days
