Just PT'd
PT 42: 172
LG: -1 (finally)
LR1: -3
RC: -4
LR2: -1
Thoughts:
LG: Very happy that I've gotten LG down to the -1 range. I dinged the last question because of time, unfortunately.
LR: Didn't make any dumb mistakes, which is good. Two of the four I missed were flaw questions, so I'm going to drill those this upcoming week.
RC: Frustrating. This is my first test in the 40's, so I believe this is around when RC began to change (though not when it picked up comparative). I missed 3 of my 4 on a brutal art section. (Not sure if anyone remembers it, but it's the section about the comic book-ish art guy who apparently had some relationship with abstract expressionism that I couldn't comprehend well enough). But I think this was likely to happen-- I started around -1/-2 on RC and have ignored it so far. So it looks like it's back on the RC grindstone for me.
Overall: Changed a couple answers that I shouldn't have. Not happy that I'm down from a 174 on my last test, but I'm glad it's within a range I'm happy with. My last few tests have indicated that the shift I'd like to make into the upper 170's may be more a matter of stamina than anything else. Happy Saturday!
And today I present: My #1 Dumbest LSAT Studying Moment.
Upon review, I realized that I missed 2 LR questions because I understood the phrase "for granted" in its colloquial sense-- when you treat something ungratefully-- rather than its literal sense-- when you accept a proposition without question.
What a life!
I got a question wrong yesterday on RC 67 because I didn't have a precise understanding of the meaning of the word 'preponderance'. I know that vocab-related questions aren't particularly uncommon on the LSAT, but that was the first instance in which it clearly cost me a point

You guys should let loose more often, this feels great and I think you all tend to over PT/drill

Thanks for the advice! I guess I thought I should stick to timed prep since the test is next month. I'll go back to untimed drilling.
I used the Manhattan Bibles, but don't feel like I retained enough to be able to tackle every LR question or LG section. Most of their methods didn't jive with me. I'm also living abroad right now so it would be super expensive and inconvenient to order more prep books.

Nothing feels worse than when you have serious drops on PT's. Absolutlely nothing.

Yeah, it blows. My PT scores literally set my mood for the week. It's terrible, but I care so damn much about this stupid test.

Feeling exactly the same way... Also learned yesterday that taking a practice test with the book in my lap while sitting in a cheap lawn chair outside was not the best decision. :/

Checking in!

I'm happy with my score from Feb, but have been tutoring the test for a company since then and might as well take the opportunity to shoot for that sweet 180 before the cycle really gets going!

littlewing67 wrote:SO GUYS!!! I just took PT 39, and was looking over my answers for LG with 7 sage. Didn't have time for the last 2 questions, so I just marked them as wrong, as well as got 3 other questions wrong. That is exceptionally high for me I never go -5 on LG. Regardless, after my review, I got antsy and put my responses into 7 sage analytics, and GUESS WHAT????? Ya girl got a 171. Really boosting my morale over here. I didn't check how many, or what questions I got wrong for the other sections so I am about to blind review them, but I found myself getting in tune with them. Here is to hoping this is my real outcome come September

good shit

Thats awesome!! With -5 on LG, you must have killed LR &RC. I think with some consistent LG grind and focus you will regularly be hitting 17x+
Congrats
