Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
Took PT 51 today; one of the few PTs I haven't done at least a section from.
LR: -2
RC: -2
LR: -1
LG: -0
Scaled: 177
BR:

RC: -2

Scaled 179
I'm legitimately in shock. This is my new PT record and I keep checking to make sure I didn't add wrong or something haha. I just wish it were more recent. I'm also slightly panicking because how on earth do I maintain this?! What if it was a fluke?! I'm paranoid that now I'm going to tank the next PT...

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
Thank you guys!! I just can't help but worry because two weeks before September my scores suddenly tanked. And, despite getting a 173 less than a week before the test, I ended up going down almost 10 points on the actual thing. I guess I'm just really jaded and I don't want to get my hopes up!
Side note - LSAT writers are legitimately obsessed with dinosaur fossils and studies about smokers. It seems like those topics appear on EVERY test haha

And also, because the hopes don't matter. Don't worry about the hopes. Only worry about the points.
If you can get the points in practice, there's no reason why you can't get the points on test day.

Yes! They love their cholesterol levels. I've also noticed some factually inaccurate stuff that they've cited...I remember a reference to a study that sounded a whole lot like one of Harlow's monkey studies where they stated the findings of the experiment incorrectly, although maybe they just made up their own "study."Dirigo wrote:Yeah there definitely are repeating themes. Very true. And I definitely feel more relaxed this time around than last time. Although GT, you've scored 177+ soo many times, you have absolutely nothing to worry aboutGreenTee wrote:If you can get the points in practice, there's no reason why you can't get the points on test day.

I severely underperformed my numbers, so I'm in the same boat. I've learned to approach this exam and sitting for it without thinking about what I've done. Knowing that my score should reflect a high score is something I never think about at this point. Just go in, one by one is my thought process right now.

This. I remember running into a question where they said something like "unplugging a peripheral component such as a 'mouse' from a personal computer..." Like, peripheral component..."mouse" in quotes...personal computer.nlee10 wrote:It feels weird when I do problems are that older than me.Dirigo wrote:I love antiquated RC Passages explaining how the internet or e-mail works.

the scale was all kinds of fucked up. so many unobtainable scores with that curve. silly business over yonder in pennDirigo wrote:Just redid June 2007. Improved 6 points from when I took it last month. Still didn't do as well as I would have liked score-wise but I'm just going to blame the ridiculous curve on that one.

Came to Starbucks to do some sections. This lady talking on the phone sits next to me and is writing on napkins, so I offer her paper because I like to break the NY stereotype (we're not all mean). We end up talking for an hour about her life and I gave her some sage advice of how to handle her life problems. Yay for making a stranger's day!
Now back to RC drilling...

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
Finished the LR portion of the trainer today!
Drilled a total of 40-45'ish LR questions split up between the different types after each corresponding chapter, went like -3.
Just have RC#3 left which should fly and then I'm on to PTs; drilling timed sections; and untimed cambridge for mistakes.
Trying to decide between taking a PT tomorrow morning and then some of the trainer, or just finishing the trainer up in the morning then taking a couple sections after and a PT on sunday morning.
Decisions.
