-4 on RC but then -8 on games. Guessed on all but one of virus and not a single one correct. I beat Eileen Gray but was slayed by a Computer Virus. A temporary defeat that will go not go un-remembered.

For anyone that is retaking the test in December, can you comment on any advice you have for first timers? Anything you wish you knew going into the test that you didn't know (if anything)? Any advice on how to score the same as your PT average or better? My fear is scoring well below my PT average and I'm wondering if any of you re-takers have any insight or advice on how to avoid it or anything you think you should do differently going into December.

Wishing everyone luck as they prepare for December and hoping you all reach your target score on December's test!

I'm wondering how I should change my study habits if at all. For the September test, I mainly focused on doing PTs. In the last month or so before the test, I focused on RC with the PowerScore Bible because that was my weakest section and I saw improvements in that section, but completely regressed on test day (-9). I don't have a specific question type that gets me in any of the sections so I just review questions I missed and try to understand fully why I missed them. Leading up to the test day, my PTs were up against that 170 barrier. Couldn't really push past it effectively or consistently. I feel like I need a different approach or even worse need to undo the manner of thinking I already developed. Are there other materials I should be looking at or new methods I should consider? The only thing I'm pretty happy with is my pacing. I used to be awful at getting to all the questions, but now I can do so pretty well.

As someone who got well below my PT average, I don't have any advice for ya, I can just tell you my nerves got the best of me.

If you come across a weird game: do not freak out. Just throw rules at it and maximize points. Don't get paralyzed. I did on viruses and looking at it now there are a few questions with easy points you didn't have to really "get" the game to see the right answer to. Keep a cool head.

Officially checking in - oh my god did I fuck up - 7 points below my PT average. That's ok, I guess it's an opportunity to go above my PT average? #deadinside

What's your LSAT history and study regime been like, bro?

I started prepping in June and then got my full-time job offer in July and started working longer hours. I try to put in ~4 hours a night after work and then like 8-10 on Saturdays with Sundays off. It has been working well for me, though.

How is your prep going?

nimbus cloud wrote:My average for RC is -6. I got -3 on this one. How?? I thought I bombed it. Same with LG: -2 average, and I only missed -1 despite the virus game.

On the other hand, I bombed my favorite LR. My average is -2, I got -5 and -4 respectively. Combination of unlucky questions and terrible strategy (wasted too much time on an early question and still got it wrong). Soo.... I am not sure what to study to do better in December.

Hmmm... I think more PTs with through BR will help for sure. Really spend time dissecting each LR question and write out explanations. Also 7Sage has free BR calls that a lot of people swear by! Check those out maybe?

Congrats on killing RC and LG though :)

explained in the waiters thread so sorry if I sound like a broken record. to sum it up don't take the test with pneumonia
so much respect dude. that fucking sucks so much and you are not to blame. got hit with a 100+ degr fever a week before the test and if it'd been a week later i'd be in the exact same boat. I really hope you kill it extra hard in december to make up for this shit.

(eta: how did I end up on this thread? thought this was the waiter thread. you're drunk, alex, go home.)

I went from 167 in Feb to 170 today, but still 4 points below my PT average. Solid meh. I'm curious about the December test. If I retake will schools not look at my app until that score or will they review them before and after? I have a solid GPA (4.01) so I am on the fence if retaking is a good option (especially for HLS or scholly.)

I'd retake if you're still that far below your PT average. Some schools will accept you outright I'm sure, but others will probably hold for December score. Even if they hold, it's still beneficial to retake.
You're looking at solid money lower T14 now anyways though so no real need to if you are totally over it.
Probably out at HYS unless otherwise remarkable though.
