Who the f guns for a 179?

You know those LG questions that say "if M is third and T is sixth, how many possible variables could be between M and T, not including M and T?" or "if M is third and T is sixth, how many possible variables could be between M and T, including M and T?

Let's say the answer is there are three variables that can be between them (A, B, and C). To the first question, I answer 5. To the second, I answer 3. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

There's always at least one of those questions, or a nasty substitution question, on each test. So a 179 is more reasonable than a 180.
Learn from your mistakes. Don't be a dummy.
But if you want to keep tarding, you can still 180 even if you miss a question or two so just be perfect with everything else.
I've been studying or teaching 20+ hours a week since March.... This is just one of those things, like my inability to draw horizontal diagrams. I am aware of it but don't recognize the question type when I'm timed.

It's not unheard of for me to go -1 on RC as well. I'm just gunning for a 179 because it is the top score I can reasonably get without major alterations in my skillset. Is it really necessary to demand perfection? I'm basically doing it for funzies.

lol @ gunning for a 179

You do get that not all tests are the same, and your skill level could easily land you anywhere within a 5 point range no matter how consistent you are in practice, right?

The difference between a 175 and a 180 is luck. Test center conditions. Mentality. Whether your cab driver bailed on you the morning of. Random section order. Holding in a piss.

That's why gunning for a 179 is silly.

That's just not true for high scorers.

If you're a 180 scorer, those conditions/concerns don't matter. You don't miss anything.

I don't miss anything. Except a certain type of question I already know I miss always and which is always present. It's like predicting a 180 - 1.

I guarantee that in two weeks, you can give me four tests in a row and I will score the same on each of them.

I have a good track record with standardized tests, and that's part of it.

I'm basically saying a 179 because I don't see the point of setting myself up for failure. If I get a 180, I'll be ecstatic. Why make myself feel bad about getting a 179 just because I can't count?

(Also... I've peed mid-section on all three tests. I don't understand you people with your superior bladders.)

No. It's just an odd, arbitrary goal.
No kid grows up with the ultimate goal of becoming Vice President.
But follow your dreams!
My GOAL is a 180. My "if I don't get it I'll be pissed" number is 179.

Are you prepared to endorse an adult diaper?
I personally endorse the "get so efficient you can sprint to the bathroom after you've finished a section but before the next one" approach.

I may or may not have considered the diaper approach.

He's the kind of partner who makes associates and other partners below him cry, but I think he'd write a great LOR and is definitely a well-known name. He scares the shit out of me, but seems to like me a lot. And I'm on a huge case he has, so he actually can attest to my skills.

Decent start to a Monday. Plus, the other attorney I'll ask to write me a LOR gave me super substantial work.
Congrats! I have a question about LORs. I am still in undergrad, am also doing research with a prof (should get me a good LOR) and am working on developing a good relationship with another. However, I have also had multiple 6 month full time internship/co-ops where I was working 40-50 hours a week. My last one over the summer was for a very large company (within top 10 company in the world) and I did really well in an intellectual position (not a stupid intern position where I was getting coffee lol). This was NOT a position that is related to the legal field, it was a science/research position. Anyway I am sure they would write me a good LOR also. So, for law school, do they have of preference of where I get my LORs from? I've heard that they prefer professors but honestly I haven't heard much on the subject.
I think you should have at least 2 from professors since you are still in school. An additional LOR from that internship wouldn't hurt and I don't think it has to pertain to the legal field for it to be relevant.

Haha you can check my history, man. I literally do the LSAT for a living. I'd have to be straight retarded to not be scoring in the upper 170s by now.

It amazes me how much my bladder can hold when it's forced to do so. When I taught, I wouldn't go pee for 9 (sometimes a little longer) hours straight. After a terrifying airplane bathroom experience at 7 years old, I consistently hold it for 6 hour flights. The LSAT is my bladder's bitch.
Teach me your ways.

I even switched out coffee for caffeine pills swallowed dry in June. I'm like a nine-months-pregnant woman, it's ridiculous.

I've heard some people say that it's bad to do 3 and you should stick to 2, but I think if you know the work one will be solid, add it in. It doesn't matter if the job was related to science or law.
Thanks! Thats what I thought I heard somewhere, but I just wanted to make sure.

Troll, or possibly a robot. I don't think human beings can control their emotions enough to be absolutely sure they'll do exactly as well on test day as they do in practice. Even consistent 180ers.

Also the LG question (s)he's referring to is just a matter of reading the question stem and counting on your fingers. Like, why would misreading happen on those questions but never anywhere else on the test?
