Lol, this was exactly like me. I had no idea wtf I was reading for any of the passages. That sucked because I aced my LG and LR before that 3rd awful awful RC.marshmallow456 wrote:I just have to say I was dying inside after my first RC. Thankfully, it was right before the break. I was so so happy to open up section 4 and see another RC!
Yup. Went through an entire RC section and had NO clue what I was doing. I was so shell-shocked! Thank God for the break. Gave me time to recover and hope for another RC.

By far the best explanation of the LSAT conversion. I repeat, your score is not influenced by the other Dec takers. The LSAC (with their many years of expertise) create a test that should get a normal distribution of scores and that each of those scores can reasonably be compared to the same score of a different administration.
In other words, a person that scores a 170 on a "hard" test should also score a 170 on an "easy" test.
They use the experimentals to make this determination. They see how the 170's did on certain questions and how the 160's did on certain questions, etc. and then construct a test and a "curve" to get the numbers they are looking for.
This works because so many tens of thousands of people take the test that it all comes out in the wash. If only 20,000 LSAT idiots took the December test, the "curve" would still be the same (i.e. probably -11), but most of the takers would just get terrible scores. The test was fair, but the takers were lame.

Anyone remember this movie?

Guys, instead of focusing on curves and score release dates and speculation like that...
What's everyone drinking to celebrate/drown their sorrows? Polished a bottle of saki off with the SO and now a hard cider. DELICIOUS AND DRUNKIFYING.

I still can't believe Mirrors was the real RC. I can't believe it because it seems too good to be true. I seriously think I got -13 on the experimental RC. I can't believe that LG was so easy. I went -9, cancelled, and -6 on my previous LSATs for LG.
Man, everything went right today.

some of you have no clue what you're talking about. the LSAT includes an experimental section for the purpose of DIF-analysis.

Thanks man. It took me 4 LSATs to get it right (hopefully). There will be no celebration until the scores officially arrive.dosto wrote:This is always good to hear, great job.ManoftheHour wrote: Man, everything went right today.

For everyone who says the exp RC was harder than actual RC, did you guys have punishment, surreal/abstract artist, something, something? Because I actually found it much easier than the actual RC. (Pretty sure -0 on exp while anywhere from -2 to -7 on real).

Re: December 2013 LSAT waiting thread
According to this thread, Mirrors, Innate Ability, Art, and Taxation Gaming Econs was the real RC. I thought it was significantly easier than the other one. The difficulty between the two are night and day. I'm pretty sure I got -13 on the experimental and -2 to -4 on the real one.melodygreenleaf wrote:For everyone who says the exp RC was harder than actual RC, did you guys have punishment, surreal/abstract artist, something, something? Nah. I think those people are referring to a different exp. RC with W.E.B. vs. Hughes, Pluto/comets, a comparison criminal acquittal/dismissal passage, and something else.melodygreenleaf wrote:For everyone who says the exp RC was harder than actual RC, did you guys have punishment, surreal/abstract artist, something, something? Re: December 2013 LSAT waiting thread
You mean there is more than one kind of experimental for a section? Like my experimental RC is different from someone else's experimental RC on this exam?
I had judicial candor too. Had no idea wtf was going on the whole time.

I took it in the UK, does this make a difference? Other sections seem to overlap.bee wrote:weird, i had an rc exp that had neither dubois nor plutojkee wrote:Hi all, new poster here. Just read through all of the pages, still having trouble with which RC was experimental.

the real rc had mirrors, which was NOT pluto
Can we put some other key words re mirrors? I'm using all that's left of my brain and, for the life of me, nothing is coming up
I also distinctly remember a passage abt women's rights in marriage in england; this passage was NOT in the pluto/dubois RC section.
might be shooting in the dark, but if anyone has any thoughts please do share!

Okay, thank you. Is the test normed so a 170 scorer would get a score of 170 on any hard and easy test, or that the scorer would score a 170 on any test given a three year interval?
