I stopped drinking a month ago or so and won't until I'm done with the LSAT.GreenTee wrote:No, this is totally credited. IME, even if I just have one or two glasses of wine the night before a PT, and feel completely fine in the morning, I still invariably end up missing questions that I shouldn't be missing. Something about alcohol--even a tiny bit of alcohol--impedes my LSAT performance significantly.Shakawkaw wrote:Or maybe you anticipate a score drop and psyche yourself out?KanGaHru wrote: Have fun, definitely don't drink once we are within a few days of the test though. I have experimented on multiple occasions drinking moderately and lightly the day before taking some PTs. Even on the days I felt fine, I still had at least a guaranteed 3 point+ decrease from my average PT score. That includes nights where I would drink as little as 3 beers the night before. Maybe I'm just a light weight though
But to any of the people in legal/medical states, have you noticed anything similar with "the marijuana" (that is, if consumption the night before impacts your PT scores?) Just curious for science purposes

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
Finally finished the LG portion of the trainer! Just two portions left: LR#3—which I'm going to start up soon after I eat something and basically doing that the rest of the evening; and RC#2 which hopefully I will be done with tomorrow or sometime on Sat at the latest.
I'm definitely starting my PT/drill schedule Saturday morning and although I'll have to see how many I'm getting wrong so I'm not just burning through them, I will be basically taking one/two every day until the 5th.
I keep finding myself "nerding" out, like things are clicking (did some of the "hard" LG games and timing still an issue so definitely going to be drilling timed LG sections a lot in addition to PTs, but at least out of what I attempted I got almost every question of the "hard" games right) and I'm just kinda really enjoying this part of the process when things are feeling so much more connected and coming together.
Like I'm runnin to eat a late lunch and rather than watch TV for 15 mins I'm actually geeked to watch 7sage explanations of the 8 games I did today while I eat (efficiency :p)

Ha luh you Mist but no no! Please don't be a guinea pig and waste one lol! Just curious if anyone has noticed a similar correlation like they have with alcohol, and it really is nothing more than random curiosity.mist4bison wrote:I actually almost smoked a bowl last friday before my PT, but decided not to. ETA: Actually, I won't do research. Brain is always foggy the day after smoking. Not worth wasting a PT on.
ETA: If you did do one before a PT and got a 180 I'm quitting life.

If I have just one or two drinks, I don't notice any difference on my PTs. That said, I still won't be drinking for at least the two - three days before the test.jw316 wrote:Ha luh you Mist but no no! Please don't be a guinea pig and waste one lol! Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
I've tried this. Smoked before studying because I was also curious. This was dumb. I literally just sat in the 4th floor of the library watching Real Houswives and eating Doritz. No regrets there because this was months before the real thing.jw316 wrote: But to any of the people in legal/medical states, have you noticed anything similar with "the marijuana" (that is, if consumption the night before impacts your PT scores?) However, there have been some times where I'll smoke in the afternoon and have a huge burst of energy and be super productive a few hours later.
Lastly, I do not recommend smoking the night before a PT. I do recommend doing thesis writing though. Or segz.
This makes me sound like a total stoner. But I was really just curious. For science!
ETA: This was in college, which is always a legal/medical state.

You're on fire Rigo! Keep it up!Dirigo wrote:Just did another RC section and got -1! This time I finished at 33:40 but was able to go back to a question I wasn't sure about and change re-read it and change my incorrect answer to a correct one! WooHoo.
I'm hoping I can solidify my improved RC in these next couple of weeks so I pick up at least a few points more points there on the 6th than my average of around -6.

Haha could be. I like how this is a case of correlation being treated as causation. However, even if its me anticipating the undesired effect that is causing the drop, my anticipation stems from the fact that i drank the night before. So either way, not drinking.Shakawkaw wrote:Or maybe you anticipate a score drop and psyche yourself out?KanGaHru wrote:m27 wrote:Did 6 untimed RC humanities passages today, 10 random mix of games with 7sage review, and drilled the games that I studied few days ago to get accuracy and timing down. Trying to get some stuff in before I go into the city and drink my face off (it's my buddy's 21st, aka last "fun" thing before the evening of December 6th).
Have fun, definitely don't drink once we are within a few days of the test though. I have experimented on multiple occasions drinking moderately and lightly the day before taking some PTs. Also, if you are correct that it is my anticipation, then i am sure the thought has now crept its way into some of those who have read this thread which will in turn provide them with said anticipation. Therefore, if correct, then welcome to my world!

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
My flight landed at 5am this morning, spent the day getting some winter accessories, I also got lost a few times trying to find the Social Security office
I'm finally settled in, no hubby, no immediate family, no distractions. I'm planning to spend the day in the library getting back into my LSAT prep. My last PT would be 70, 71, 72 and 73, hoping to hit 170 soon. Hope everyone's prep is going great!
Edit: as I expected, I got the flu within two hours of landing, no headache or fever yet thankfully
