I had a dream last night that I was hanging out (at the testing center I guess?) and all of a sudden it was time for the June LSAT. I panicked because I hadn't studied at all and it was too late to withdraw. I quickly tried to practice some games but I was so rusty.
First stress dream of this administration.

So, I just printed out a packet of MSS questions and I attempted to staple them. The packet was too thick so when I stapled it the staple was sticking out. I didn't realize this until I picked up the packet and then wondered why there was blood all over the front of the packet. Apparently it cut my finger and I didn't notice. Now I might be afraid of MSS questions...

What are the actual tests like? Are they the same booklets you get if you buy PTs separately?

I never staple anything and just spread things out on my desk, which probably clashes with actual test conditions.

Brings a new meaning to the idea of the LSAT "killing" us. First Dirigo's insane nightmare, now staple attack. Confirmed, LSAT is out to get us.

Had almost the exact same dream and I haven't even started studying yet. I assume it only gets worse. Not even safe from the lsat when sleeping.

Not sure what the PT booklets are like - I've only used PDFs.

It's a booklet that is binded. Kind of like a magazine (say, your Economist or New Yorker). Except the paper is cheap and flimsy. And it is not in color.

They are organized just like the individual PTs just on much cheaper paper and all black and white.

Did some game drills today but idk how I feel about them. 75% I completed in under 6 minutes, but I had trouble on a couple; max time was 8:10. I also missed 2 questions and diagrammed a rule wrong. These were mostly easy games and it was my third time doing them, so I think I should have done better (though the last time I saw them was 3 weeks ago, so I probably didn't remember too much).

I also read a post earlier from a guy claiming to have gotten only a 171 despite drilling every single game at least 13 times. I know there's a ton of trolling on TLS, but that was a very unsettling post.

Though on the game I just did it was probably because I thought it was actually a double layer sequencing game, realized it wasn't half way through and had to re-do my digram. Got me flustered and I missed a really key inference.
GYG can I just go visit you and teach you? I hate to see this struggling.
Splits are wonderful whenever you have a big block (like for ordering you have 3 spots in a row that have to go in a certain order) because these big blocks can only fit in your setup a few ways. And those few ways are the only ways. Another good way to recognize splits are when a piece or two can only go in 2-3 spots and if those pieces trigger other pieces to be placed in specific spots.
How long do you spend on making deductions? When I was first starting out I would look at my initial setup until I was sure that I made all my deductions and then I moved on to the questions. It becomes a habit and then you learn to go on instinct.

I used to be really bad recognizing splits too. Make it a priority to ask yourself everytime you set up the game board: "Does it make sense to split this?" Even if the answer is no, you know you have thought about it and can feel good it is not the best option for that particular game.

Just counted the number of fresh PT's I have. 18 total ranging from PT 44 to 73.
That's roughly a fresh PT a week and I can supplement that with retakes (most of which are from the summer and I've probably completely forgotten).

Now time to actually get off my ass and start....

I would recommend saving at least 10-12 fresh ones for the Last 4 weeks. Use retakes in the meantime with the occasional new one thrown in for checking your progress.
Okay thanks. I figure the ones in the 40's can be used throughout and the newer ones can be saved for later since they'll be the most indicative.
I think I'm just going to start up drilling and ease myself into things again. I expect that I'm super rusty on LG after taking a couple months off.
I'm definitely ready to give it my all this time around. I was a super lazy in prepping for my first take.

Hi everyone,

I'm studying from Ann Arbor, MI, so far through chapter 6 of the LG bible. Only studying about 8-9 hours per week. Planning to do RC next in the lsat trainer.

Any recommendation for how I should get the preptests? paper or PDF? I figure it might be a hassle to print everything out, so I am leaning towards paper.

Get PDFs

Eta: I ended up buying PDFs after I had the majority of questions on paper because it sucks having to erase answers when you want to redo questions. And its very likely you will want to redo questions or games multiple times. Check out the Cambridge packets

By this weekend. Maybe I'll retake PT 74 to diagnose where I've slipped during my LSATcation.
