Great! I don't have that exam, so unfortunately I will not be able to join you all tonight. I'm going to buy PTs today. I defo want to do this PT schedule with you all, so please count me in (just not immediately lol). Could you clarify what the colors mean on the calendar, and also what it means when there are two numbers or a number and a letter listed? Thank you very much!dasani13 wrote:Hi, yes, you are correct. I'm flexible with timing so I can be available whenever is best for everyone. We're reviewing PT 48 tonight around 8-9pm EST. I took it last night and I'm still pissed about how bad I did in RC.Hurricane211 wrote:Thank you for posting the PT schedule you created, Dasani! Am I correct in thinking we take the exam sometime that day individually and then in the evening we blind-review together on Skype? I am very interested in joining, although I do not yet have a good chunk of those PTs. Is it at 8:00pm eastern time you review always?

Good thinking to take the test at 12:30pm and to make a routine leading up to it. I'm such a night owl; I'm so glad June is an afternoon test.rebexness wrote:I have been waking up at like 10am, eating some toast and a redbull, then testing at 12:30.loomstate wrote:what are your guys' sleep and eating schedules like? right now going to bed around midnight and I'm eating breakfast around 8:30.. then light snack/coffee before taking a PT at 12:30 (hopefully I can mimic this on test day). any recommendations?
I am debating about trying to do a workout first to burn off excess nerve energy, but the likelihood of my lungs being functional in june (lolallergies) means that i probably wont be able to.

I'm not so much of a nightowl as I am a terrible sleeper, so I figure the June test allows me to sleep in and also plenty of wake up time without resorting to pure adrenaline (do not want)Hurricane211 wrote:

Re: June 2014 Retakers
Took PT 48 on Wednesday: 164. It's incredible how most of the LR questions I missed seem so easy now (except one of them, #24 LR 1). It must have been the pressure of timing myself--gotta work on that! I missed the inference on Game 4 that made it a very straight-forward game. It was an easy LG section overall, though. Also, I ran out of time in the last passage (-4 in that one alone), which was also the easiest passage for me, ugh. I wasted all of my time in the hard passages and the Trainer says something really important about that-- how we should KNOW when to move on from a questions that's giving us trouble. Still working on that, too.
I'm taking PT 49 tomorrow (around 1pm EST) and then reviewing it after I do the blind review. Just let me know if anyone wants to review it together. PT A on Sunday.

Also general question for the thread: Is it reasonable to expect to do 40 PTs from here on out until test day? 5 PTs per week, sometimes doubling up?

I agree with the above. I think that is too many exams. Cut it to 20 like was suggested and drill the sections/question types you are under-performing in. That's my humble advice

Question: Do any of you get headaches after doing a PT? I sometimes get them even during PTs. I am thinking about taking a pain killer a few hours before the PT to reduce the impact of the headache. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

What kind of headache is it? I get them if I study with contacts on so I only PT with glasses.

A minor headache, it usually goes away when I just stop and chill the hell out by not focus on anything. I think I might need to chance my glasses though, I have had my current pair for quite some time

I think one thing you can do though is expect a certain score while studying. That might not sound so helpful, but the way I think about it is that your goal should be actually attainable in a helpful way: to study in a certain way, or study to a certain point, rather than to score a specific score on the LSAT. So you can study to make a certain score and then if you're consistently getting that then you've achieved your (actually achievable) goal. Then you could expect a certain PT score. When you go in to take the real test you would simply then be saying, 'well, I hope I achieve my average score,' rather than, 'I hope I achieve some score that appears totally distant from me because it's taken under these different conditions.' Or, you could even say I want to practice to a level a certain number of points above what I hope to get on test day. That's how I think about it. I'm practicing to get 178+ but will go in on test day hoping 175+.bohemiandaisy wrote:
Why shouldn't I expect a 170? I feel like after a year of studying, I should get one.
How about 5 pts a week? Are you suggesting that I may burn out?
Does that help? Also, I think you will burn out with that, but maybe you have incredible stamina. There's little reason to think that purely increasing studying will result in gains. It's studying in the right way that counts. Wouldn't it be more fun to study less but smarter anyway?

PT 57
LG: -2 (but -0 on DINOS!!!!)
LR 1: -3
LR 2: -3 (i am terrible at inputting my answers into the grader, jeez)
RC: -8 (WTF ugh)
Exp (LG): -1
Raw: 85
Score: 166 (bleh)
I attribute the bed shitting on RC to these LOUD AS F girls sitting at the table next to me. Even with headphones and distractions they were stupidly loud. Only one of them was there during the first 3 sections.
I think I am going to reprint the RC and take it at home before I even look at any of the answers.

Parallel reasoning questions are my kryptonite
Assumption questions are my favorite so easy to negate them to get the right answer

162 on PT 49. LR1 felt much easier than LR2 but I got twice as many wrong- no idea what happened there. RC was a huge disappointment as usual but LG a nice -1. Overall, kind of feeling down about the whole thing.
PT A on Monday instead of tomorrow so I can review/drill PT 49 all day tomorrow.

Should I do two experimental or one when doing PT's
PS study plan is telling me to do two experimentals to build endurance but I think the time would be better spent reviewing five sections

I think by May I will incorporate a 2nd experimental. Friends of mine did back2back PTs on Saturdays for endurance. I think if you have a very high level of accuracy this can be very helpful, but like you said, not at the expense of reviewing.withoutapaddle wrote:Should I do two experimental or one when doing PT's

Dude, -0 on Dinos is pretty awesome! That is one of the few games that completely lost me from the start the first time I attempted it (that and the bus stop game... ugh!)rebexness wrote:PT 57

Yeah that was the first time I had ever seen that PT and I was terrified of Dinos (and two other sloppy mistakes meh).
I redid the RC and i did equally badly by remembering and second-guessing a lot of my answers. Fractals are the worst.
