If this is true, and it doesn't seem too unrealistic given what he claims to have done, scoring a 180 on the LSAT following his hardcore PTing might be the definition of effectiveness and inefficiency. In other words, this might be the new epitome of hardwork. What ya think?

I stopped watching 1 minute into it when he said "most schools average out multiple takes so you should only take it once."Hotguy wrote:Lol I might give this a try comes November.retaking23 wrote:What up December. Sup December. I'm checking in...just began drilling LR/LG and I really need to pick up my game for RC. I know two months is not a lot of time, especially with my schedule (I'm in an intensive language program every week day from 9-3) but hopefully I will be able to divide and conquer this exam!

Anyone in here would like to take PT53 and review it together early this week?

Checking in from October for a retake. When are retakers, if any, starting?

There are a few in the previous pages saying they'll start after a week of break. Some said they'll start this Monday. I'd take at least 2-3 days off if I were in your position.jmjm wrote:Checking in from October for a retake. When are retakers, if any, starting?

He also said that there are 80 PTs. This guy definitely does not know his facts but his idea of taking 20 PTs each week for 3 weeks with review for 10 hours a day might have some validity in helping him increase from a 160 to a 180. I could use some proof though loldasani13 wrote:I stopped watching 1 minute into it when he said "most schools average out multiple takes so you should only take it once."Hotguy wrote:Lol I might give this a try comes November.retaking23 wrote:What up December. Took PT 58. Pretty disappointed. Hit 161. Went -6 on LR#1, -11 on RC (the hell), -2 on LG (careless errors), and then -4 on the last LR.
Was kind of happy about the LR, but i just shat the bed with reading comp. Went -3, -1, -5, -2. The 1st and 3rd passage killed me. Will review later tonight, but pretty bummed that i'm not seeing much increase...

October LGs murdered me, guessing I'll need to retake - was averaging low 170s in PT but will need a miracle to get that, I had a total freakout. I'll probably start drilling again next week or the week after.

I took yesterday and just registered today for December as an insurance policy in case I find out I didn't do as well as I'd like, so you definitely can register without canceling/receiving your score.

I agree that some of the stuff that dood said was inaccurate, but you're right in that his method is not too far off.
I mean bp shinners said he prepped for the LSAT in one month—doing 2 PTs per day and studying 10+ hours. Also, he ate tiger meat lol.
But yeah I seriously think putting a shitload of hours instead of 2-3 per day is the credited response.

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
I need to start doing more PTs, i've only done 6 and they've been super spaced out with no coherence in which one i took (60,15, '07, 30, 38, 58). I made a huge jump from my diagnostic really quickly but i've been kinda stuck now and that could be right now because i just haven't been PTing enough. Ugh today was so frustrating.Dr. Dre wrote:chaoticx5 wrote:

Guys, odds are high I'm joining you.
Just sat October and not at all confident about how I did. Hoping I don't have to take in December, but for now I'm not banking on it.
I am going to take this week off then start drilling again.

I also chocked LG (first 10 minutes of the test)... I think it would help to take the PTs at 8:30am? What do you guys think?

3 weeks before the test I will try to do 3 pts a day with extensive review. I remember Bpshinners had done something similar.
I have the time, maybe this will provide some further evidence

December 2013 chiming in.
The studying is not hard in itself, but finding the time to devote to the exam is excruciatingly hard right now. Work is absolutely killing me. And I am still scoring -10 to -15 every PT I take which is disheartening.

Yo. Leaning toward cancelling October's test. I'll start prepping again sometime this week. Probably Wednesday.

Also chiming in as an October retake.
Noticed my main gripe for the test this past Saturday was my lack of time on the LRs (all three sections of them). Any solid advice on how to speed up my LR? I've taken every PT already and read through the Manhattan and LR Bible. I'm solid on LG and RC.
I'm thinking of picking random passages and timing myself to do them under 1:30 each time. If I get it wrong or take too long, it goes into the drill pile. I'll create an LR section of 25 passages from the drill pile and go through it with 35 minutes. Wash, rinse, repeat until I'm confident and solid. Does this make sense or is it unrealistic?

The best thing about the LSAT is that it can make the laziest people realize that they CAN be super diligent if the situation calls for it.
Also, the logic games have officially replaced Sudoku. For now.

Re: December 2013 LSAT Study Group
Do what you must to get first 15 LR questions done in 15 min or less. This is essential for timing because the first 15 are usually quite easier than the last 10. So give yourself 1 min/question for first 15, and then 2/min for last 10. ALSO, do not fight with the question. Again, DO NOT FIGHT WITH THE QUESTIONS. LR is such that I routinely finish with a few minutes to spare and have time to go back and deliberate on some of the trickier questions. To have that luxury, you must maintain an internal pace and that means you cannot get bogged down on any one of two questions. Personally, I'll read the question stem and then the stimulus and then I'll answer (either by prephrasing as is often the case for inference questions, flaws, suff. assumptions, etc or by eliminating). If I do this process once and I don't have an answer, I'll repeat the process once more. That is it. I'll do a question a maximum of two times on my first go through, pick an answer which I feel is best (however marginally best it may be) and move on to the next question.nooooo wrote:Also chiming in as an October retake.
