Taking for the first time and applying for a one-year deferral next cycle (so would be entering in fall 2018.)

Hi Folks,

My name is Travis and I've been tutoring the LSAT for about 10 years. This is NOT a sales pitch. I'm just introducing myself and letting you all know that I check this forum almost every weekday and would be happy to answer anyone's questions about specific problems, pacing, test day concerns, etc...

I got my JD from NYU in 2009 and have been living in Northern California for the past 6 years. Currently, I work for a company called Magoosh, writing an online prep course for the LSAT.

Again, if you have any questions about the exam, law school, debt, jobs, etc... feel free to message me. I also have a blog you can check out at https://magoosh.com/lsat. It's in its infancy, so there's not a ton to look at right now, but I'll be updating it regularly with helpful info. If you have any burning questions that you'd like to see addressed in the blog, give me a heads up.

Best of luck to all of you taking the Feb exam. I look forward to getting to know some of you better :)

Take care,
Travis

You guys have an awesome GMAT program. Whenever I feel like studying for the GMAT, I go through the Magoosh flash cards on my phone. Granted, I don't get very far with the Math cards, so I guess I'm stuck studying for the LSAT. LOL.
Ha! That's not the worst reason I've heard for taking the LSAT ;-)

I'm glad to hear you liked the GMAT product. We just released the first stage of the LSAT product last week, so there's not much to it yet. Right now, it only covers the Logic Games section, but because of that, the subscription is really cheap and will give access to all the other content as it becomes available this year.

How's your LSAT prep going so far? Anything in particular that you're struggling with?

LR. Just (re-)started prep though so its a little too early for specifics. Can you make iPhone LSAT apps please? Haha.

ETA: I am impressed by the Magoosh pricing.[/quote]

I would love to make an LSAT app for the iPhone, but we've got to get the main product up first, so it might be a year before that happens :-(

And yeah, I agree about Magoosh's pricing. That's actually the primary reason I decided to join the company. When I was in law school, I found it very troubling how little socioeconomic diversity there was (you can read my intro blog for more on that: http://magoosh.com/lsat/2015/greetings-future-1ls/). One of Magoosh's primary goals is to make test prep accessible to people who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford it, so hopefully that results in greater socioeconomic diversity in grad programs.

As for LR, that was the section that gave me the most anxiety, too. What have you used thus far to prep for it? Do you feel like you have a good grasp of the different question types that appear within it?

I could use a serious study group and/or a serious study partner. Especially Somone who can check up on me regularly i.e ask for progress reports, gives advice, helps me stay on track, surprise questions, share study schedules, provide positive criticism/feedback and most importantly keeps me motivated. I will do the same with you obvi. 9 weeks away. I want to maximize my score in these two months especially with the holidays around the corner. I want every day to count.

PM me. I don't see a problem providing my contact info. I'm great with texts.

Communicate now with those who not only know what a legal education is, but can offer you worthy advice and commentary as you complete the three most educational, yet challenging years of your law related post graduate life.

I might be in. Printing 80 pages of LG to drill over this next week. Scheduled a PT for next week to see if February is doable. Haven't studied since December 2014 :/

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
