Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
Does anyone have experience taking the Kaplan "Classroom" prep course for the LSAT?
If so, what difference did it make in your LSAT score?
Is it worth it?
Thanks

The general consensus is not to go Kaplan. It is probably one of the least recommended. You might want to do some research: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 6&t=151670. Good luck!KingJamesXXIII wrote:Does anyone have experience taking the Kaplan "Classroom" prep course for the LSAT?

This was beautiful. And the reason why I keep coming back to these forums. LET'S DO THIS.JackelJ wrote:I was planning on taking the September test but ended up switching to February because of anxiety and stress. I was getting head aches all the time, doing lsat problems in my dreams, and I could not focus on anything else. I am also hoping to handle test anxiety before I take the February test.theugg wrote:Well, after my dismal results in the Sept. test, I'll be joining you guys.
I got 10 points lower (165) than my average PT of 174/175.
I think my problem might involve test anxiety. Or I'm just really not-clutch. Either way, I'll be studying my ass off until Feb.
It seems like you know the test pretty well, I mean if you have a PT average of 174/175 in timed conditions then you handled the difficult part of learning the test which is quite a feat in itself. You scored a 165, so you did better than about 92% of test takers. That is pretty awesome! Retake in February and look at it as just another practice test - something you have done dozens of times. You already have a decent score to fall back on and can get into competitive schools with your score, it might not be HYS, but that doesn't mean you won't be successful. If you have the drive to study so long for the lsat then I am guessing you are a pretty good student and will do well at whatever school you go to.
So look at the February test as an opportunity to kick ass and show what you can really do, not as a test you have to retake to prove yourself or anything. Is a 165 the score you wanted? Of course not when you are scoring above 170. But we are given the opportunity to take the test more than once so just show what score you are capable of in February. Worst case is you still have a score that will get you into a top 20-30 school, or a more regional school that will give you $$. Hopefully this helped in some way haha, I'm not the best at motivational statements.

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
My 4th take is not up until late next year but i may hang here to study.
I scored full 10 pts below my last fresh pt before the test in June and lower than my previous best despite being way more prepped. So I probably know what some of the posters here are going through. Looking for ways to manage game day anxiety and speed. Speed improvement feels hard as even after limitless drilling I finish fresh sections close to the stop time, which then causes anxiety, and it should be much better than that.

Im in roughly your same boat, though I was scoring and scored a bit lower, dont let it get you down, law schools are not going anywhere (well some are but if you're scoring over a 150 no need to worry) so just take it easy, prep, and take the Aaron Rodgers relax method to heart.

I think you may be able to convince them with an addendum that your second score is the real one.mist4bison wrote:http://www.top-law-schools.com/retaking-the-lsat.htmlcranburial wrote:
Btw, anyone know if HYS really average your scores like they claim to do?
