I was going to register, late, for the October LSAT last night, but after speaking with my friend who was at T5 summer law program, he convinced me that I should take the Dec exam. I would love to join your study group; I just created a Manhattan user id and emailed Noah. I hope to learn a lot from all you guys and girls and hopefully contribute my fair share as well.

This is also my first post every on TLS lol (actually second now, posted the first one on the wrong thread)
Great, Dami!

Good luck studying.

Checking in! I was planning on October for a little while, but unfortunately spending 7 weeks this summer traveling didn't agree with my study schedule. I've been working through Mastery and am going to start focusing more on timed sections in a few weeks.

Looking forward to working with you all! I am planning on being in New York City for the bulk of my study time so if anyone is interested in a study partner send me a PM!

Originally scheduled for October, withdrew, and officially retaking in December. Emailing Noah shortly. Having some pretty awful problems with LR (some days it's a -5, other days it's a -11), but RC is my strongest point. I'll help where I can.

I'm on EST in VA, but I'll be leaving shortly for KY. In the chance that someone in KY is here/would like a study partner, I'm game.

Currently working through Assumption and Flaw questions. If someone would like to go over these question types in the Manhattan room later in the week let me know and we can work out a time. Cheers!

I just joined the MLSat study group, but I would still like to do a bit of work outside of what is stated in the rubric. Does any one recommend taking timed section tests from the earlier exams? I figured I could begin with 7, take some timed section tests and every 3 days or so take a full length.

Good idea??

man_utd_4l & Dami, have you two emailed Noah and received the link to the chat room and syllabus?

Looking at the syllabus it's saying to review RC and LG - numbered ordering games this week. Although, there will be no moderator this week, and the students will be running the show.

We'll most likely discuss what's to go on in each session. Don't know what everyone else settled on, given I left early, anything agreed on (for those who stayed the entire time)?

I did join the chat room. I received the email from Noah a couple of days ago. The next meeting is Wed at 8pm ET right?

I'm fairly sure that this topic has been discussed already, but are people applying this cycle or next? I've got dreams of UVA or Vandy, but I know that applying to UVA earlier helps. I'm a little worried that an ED/In-state in January might be late for UVA, and really late for Vandy.

Protip: don't take random, unnecessary 3 week long breaks during your prep. I was finally starting to hit 173+ consistently..then I took a break, thinking that it might help me... took a PT recently and barely got 167(had to give extra time on LG)

Good in a way I guess, more motivation!

Just to update from our side - iamjaraf will lead tonight, either using that name or a real one :)

And, I'm thinking that perhaps you'd all like to take turns leading the sessions. That might work really well.

Someone already e-mailed me about leading session 4. (tonight is session 2)

Maybe y'all can discuss that tonight...

Hey guys,

So last night was a bit of a disaster lol. Not horrible lost cause but, things weren't quite as organized as I would like them.

Are we starting too early for these group studies? Because I feel like alot if us are there, hoping to get something out of it, but not completely sure what we're looking for.

Noah suggested giving us a list of the questions we'd review each week and then one of us would be able to prepare something for the session. I think that's a good place to start. We could also use this forum to note question types we're having trouble with, as we encounter them on our own.

I don't know these are just some suggestions. Maybe last night was just a bad night for everyone, I know I had somewhere I needed to be at 9 and had to leave pretty quick myself.

Anyways, I'm going to do PT 57 or 58 this weekend as a way to see how I measure up with a more recent test, and using the new LR techniques I'm studying this week from powerscore. What's everyone else up to this week?

Hey Y'all, Don't despair - these groups are clunky at first, but you'll find your groove. It's a lot easier to be in a class, where there's a teacher who manages the conversation and has ideas to teach - so you'll have to try extra hard to make it work without one. Usually at first everyone is timid and people haven't learned enough to say very sophisticated things! I suggest you guys follow the study schedule so that you've all read the same chapters (and you can figure out the corresponding ones in other books, of course).

And I will pass the question list to the next leader (I think Techrostar) and he/she can assign them to folks to prepare.

Yeah, I held back just a little, don't want to sound too stupid too soon, haha. The room will be better also when everyone gets microphones. I don't think it's too early, just call people out (like Noah said), I think a lot of people are initially shy.

In any case, I volunteered to lead this week's session. I'm following along with mlsat online course/syllabus, which is approximately the same (I believe) to the syllabus sent to those who joined the dec '11 LSAT group.

Current week syllabus says (assuming week 3): 1. LR: Assumptions and 2. LG: 3D Numbered Ordering. Is that fine with everyone? Do people plan to join this Wednesday?

In terms of what I'm reviewing this week, going to try to finish the logic games at a greater rate, so that I can start taking full time preptests in the next 2 to 3 weeks. I don't want to start recording my score until I know the basics of all the logic games.

Hi guys,

I postponed my test to December this past weekend.

Anyhow, I made a preptest schedule for the December test according to the study schedule, so I can review the tests on the schedule with others.

Are you guys planning on following the PT schedule, and, if so, what day of the week would you all want to review?

BTW, for those of you starting up, we just released a new version of our LSAT tracker, which can analyze your results for PT46-63. Scroll down on this page: http://www.manhattanlsat.com/training-center.cfm

Unfortunately, it's a bit limited with some Mac operating systems (for the geeks, they don't like excel macros) - if you don't see the graphs pop-up after saving and re-opening, you can e-mail it to us and we'll fix it for you.

I'm following the PT schedule, as well as using some of the older exams as LR and LG practice. I've already done some of them (44, 54, 56, 58, 60, 61) but I'll probably redo those soon. It's been two or three months since I've looked at 44/54/56, and I'll do the later ones closer to the exam.

But yeah, I'll review with you. I get stuck on some of the LR questions, so I'd love to hear other people's explanations.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
