It sounds better when it's magic.

Do you believe in magic
In an LSAT score?
When the negative numbers
Give scaled 94?

Thx Helm for being a placeholder for the top spot so that I don't have to.

Seems 168 is the new 151...or maybe that means the curve will have what would have been 168 as 151...I hope TLS isn't a representative sample.

(obviously not)

Regression analysis from my best fit line does predict I get a 161 though, I don't mind saying that. I hope to prove statistics wrong today though!

After exam: 173-174
Now: 170-171 (my confidence has progressively eroded over the past few weeks)

Range of possibilities: 167-177

Best of luck to everyone! I really mean it!

Man, this stuff is getting crazy. I keep thinking about my worst case scenario.

Worst Case Scenario

Curve: -11
LG: -8
RC: -8
LR1: -5
LR2: -5

75/101 = 160
Likelihood: 15%

I really don't see how I could have done any worse.

However, it's fun to think about the best case ;)

Best Case Scenario

Curve: -14
LG: -2 (having got CRAZY lucky on guesses)
RC: -2 (I had extensive background in two of the passages and didn't feel I struggled with any questions)
LR1: -2 (I was right on all of the ones I was certain of and I got half of the hard ones right through educated guessing)
LR2: -2 (I was right on all of the ones I was certain of and I got half of the hard ones right through educated guessing)

93/101 = 175
Likelihood: 5%

I think I would be absolutely floored if it went outside of that range; I think I'd be lucky if it was in the middle:

Good Scenario

Curve: -14
LG: -5
RC: -5
LR1: -3
LR2: -4

84/101 = 167
Likelihood: 30%

Overall

120-159 = 1%
160-166 = 60%
167-175 = 38%
176-180 = 1%

Nobody seems to have 174 yet so I predict that for myself.

JurisDoctorate wrote:Lol, I knew that; the whole "not a point less" gave me a pretty good chuckle. It wasn't that devoid from reality considering a few people on TLS who are expecting high 170's. No matter how well you prepare, the thought of being able to predict one's score, within like 5 answers, on a 100 question test seems a bit ridiculous.

Good luck on the 162, I'm pulling for you!

161 is my guess. I'd like to be optimistic and think I scored higher, but unfortunately this test didn't feel so great. I was in the high 160's on PTS :\

Damn. There might be something to this statistics thing after all. It was on the money. I was hoping for at least a 165 though. Ugh, I need to see these damn links.

174, but I feel my 177 prediction was not an overestimation. The one question I changed from right to wrong and the very first LG question that I somehow missed fucked me up, otherwise I would be right on the money.

JD, please update the OP with the actual scores vr. expectation. Will be fun, unless you are too upset to do it.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
