I think around 2-1/2 minutes. I don't really check that often, I usually only look at my watch four times per section.appind wrote:so how much time do you overall on average spend on reading the passage for newer RC?

As others have said, that's not a proper inference to make. I think I would, and do, diagram it kind of like that though. I think it's fine if you know what it means. I would solve the actual questions by following the logic chains, ie A->/B rules themselves, rather than relying very heavily on the game board. What that out slot diagram would tell me is that this particular out slot has to be A, B or C, which can be very helpful speeding up certain questions (like one that asks for a complete and accurate list of elements that are out.)carasrook wrote:quick question: how do you guys handle diagramming situations like the one below?
in an in and out game, you have two rules that you end up diagramming like this
A -> /B
C -> /B
So, normally when I have a not both rule in in and out games, I'll diagram like an A/B in one of the out slots. But, when you have situations like the one above, diagramming each not both rule in separate out slots wouldn't be an efficient representation.
SO, is it a proper inference to make that A and C will always be together? so would you diagram an out slot like [AC]/B?

idk why I did that tbh, I just didn't feel like changing it (I realize that's a pretty trash reason lol).appind wrote:why print so it needs flipping?proteinshake wrote:I wonder how much faster I'll be on test day since I've been having to flip after every page on my PTs, even on RC, instead of having 2 full pages in front of me.
i think you'll be much faster the other way.
I'll just do it the correct way next time

No no no I didn't mean I as a good thing. I mean I was so lost and had no clue how to approach it, so I sort of had to do guesswork.

did PT 60 LG. went -1. had a bad inference on the second game, as easy as it was, and went back over the 4 questions I already did to make sure I didn't mess anything up, so wasted some time there. third game had a question that I couldn't get myself to brute force without wasting a ton of time so I just guessed (the one I missed) and moved on.

on break for PT62 and i got completely rocked by that RC section. SPent too much time on the first passage, ended up being completely rushed for the rest of the section. really didnt feel like i understood much from any passage and basically guessed my way through the entire 4th passage. Feels really bad, but pretty confident on how i did on the LR. This test might end up just being a mulligan.

For me, I think doing PTs until they became routine is key. It hasn't ironed out all the jitters, but I don't think it will feel daunting because the whole process has been a part of my schedule the past three months. I think not worrying about progressing and simply letting it happen while you study also helps. Progress here especially at the level you are isn't something you can expect immediate results just from studying, so you just have to keep working at your deficiencies without being preoccupied about whether it will result in a bump in your scores in time for the exam. I think if you're stressing out like it seems you are, you should probably chill for a few days and then get back at it and keep PTing.xolailaxo wrote:Looking to decompress a little. LR - 7
LG - 2
RC - 5
LR - 5
19 wrong which is higher than I usually get wrong making it a 165
I'm really flustered and disappointed ): I usually score a 168/169. I've been trying to break into the 170s and it's been such a struggle. I'm taking the Sept. lsat in 2 weeks. Maybe I was super nervous and it screwed me up? Or maybe I was burnt out from PTing the days before. All I know is that first section I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
Advice on how to stay calm on the actual test day?????????????
It's weird, but a good part of me is excited for this test. I'm ready to stick a fork in it.

Also, with my recent progress in RC, I'm wondering if I should take a break like I recently planned or if I should keep at it so I don't lose whatever mindset is giving me success as of late. Hmm. I'm taking my Sunday break as usual, we'll see how I'm feeling Monday.

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
I try to go into any PT with the attitude like "Fuck it- just do me, no worries and whatever happens happens" and usually I am able to be focused & relaxed and just think through all the problems. If you have that mentality you will slowly see improvements from the mechanical sessions youve spent drilling weaknesses and such. I think a huge portion of this test is a mind game. If you can control nerves and just THINK you will figure it out. Sometimes I get to a problem and Im like wtf... but i just take a breathe and work my way through it and you eventually figure it out (most the time lol)xolailaxo wrote:Yeah I completely agree I saw my score jump 10+ points from studying in July but it was a slow progression. I'm going to keep PTing and I'm taking the Dec. test as well so let's hope for a 170+. Pting almost becomes mechanical where you see the same question in a different form over and over again and it becomes second nature at one point. Anyways I just really nervous thinking a bubbled piece of paper determines the fate of my future. It's daunting. For now I won't worry about it much, I'm getting dressed and getting tacos with my friends soon and maybe a few mixed drinks to drown my sorrowInstrumental wrote:For me, I think doing PTs until they became routine is key. Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
So I just did half of 76 and then just decided to stop after completely fucking over LR.
I need to figure what the heck is going on. This is not a great time to completely forget how to do the section that comprises half of the test. Tbh I think it's that I've been neglecting LR (especially new LR sets, partly because I'm almost out) and getting out of practice.
ANYWAYS so heavy LR drilling for next two weeks.
Gonna do the rest of 76 tomorrow. So far - -1RC (26 is a BS question), -3 LR1.

I know you're a beast, but to be fair G3 on PT 76 is absolutely FUCKED. It ruined me score when I took it in October, it killed me on a PT I took a week ago and took me about 20 minutes to do in B.R. a few days back.Alexandros wrote:So I just did half of 76 and then just decided to stop after completely fucking over LR.

lol just completely cheated my astronomy homework (as i'm sure the rest of the 100 other classmates I have are doing too LOL).
professor: " each homework will have several sections, and it will take you guys about 2 hours to complete"
me: *copy and paste everything into google*
thank you quizlet, you dabes. he literally uses this website that others use for homework in most intro to astronomy classes that other people use, so answers are so easy to find lmaooo.
