Pt 70 today with no pre drills

172
Lr 1 -4
Rc -2
Lg -2
Lr2 -1

Felt foggy in the first section and felt better as I went made a couple of 50/50 mistakes again. 4th or 5th pt above 170 in a row. Pt 71 tomorrow hoping I can see a 175 at least once before test day. Who knows we will see I suppose.

Thanks for the encouragement. Seems like you're on track for your score too. I had used the LR questions from 52-56 during the very beginning of my studies before I bought the Cambridge packets and have been going back and forth on their value in the form of PT. In order to make sure I've consolidated my gains, I'm going to add them to my schedule and so I'll be taking 56 tonight and 2 PTs a day through Saturday with an off day Sunday.

Good luck on those 6-8 more PTs this week. I'm just going to be chillin until Monday 8) Maybe I'll do a retake PT Thursday or Saturday, but I don't see any benefits of doing more. At this point I either know the stuff or I don't.

This is your 2nd take right? I get the sense that once you've done the rigorous prep for a first take, the 2nd take tends to be less foundational studying and more focused on timing/keeping sharp. I could be wrong, of course.

I feel confident I will score above 170, but I am definitely still learning things and just drilling the importance of maintaining focus throughout. If I hit 175+ on a couple tests before Saturday, I will probably scale back the number of tests I have scheduled.

First take but I've been studying for a year now and postponed twice. I've mostly just had to work on timing/endurance/keeping sharp the past month. I wasn't trying to imply anything about how you should study. If it works out for you than go for it. I just know that stress is what will be the biggest threat to me so I'm going to do the minimum amount of prep the last few days and only do enough to keep me sharp. (But I also have finals/30 page papers/presentations this week so LSATs taking the backseat)

Makes sense. I've got the unique luxury of being unemployed with no school or social commitments of any kind. On break from 56 now.

Anyone ITT or lurking taking in Orlando?

Just finished PT 66 with a 176, quite content with that. Felt good while taking it, that positive feeling bore out.

LR1: -0
LG: -3 (-1 on three different games. One of which was because I failed to read "other than...")
LR2: -1
RC: -1

Games are always my bugaboo :(

This makes 5 of my last 6 at or above my target of 172, with 3 over 175. I'm almost afraid to do these last 3 PTs this week in fear that I'll tank. Have PTs 69, 72, and 74 to go!

If you are worried about getting a score below your target score and losing your confidence this close to game day you can try doing just timed sections instead of full PTs. That way you'll stay on top of your skills but not risk getting mentally thrown off.

PT 56:

LG -2
LR1 -4 (I can't help but shoot myself in the foot it seems on 1 or 2 questions for each LR section that I immediately know why it was wrong and see the right answer when not timed or that I change to the wrong answer)
LR2 -3
RC -2

Score: 170

Going to drill early tomorrow and take PT 71. Then probably 52 in the PM

Retaking my 163 from February. My 3 timed PTs over the last week went 166-164-177.

I felt really confident throughout the entire test for once. My best score before this was a 172 back when I was prepping for my first take. Here's to hoping it's all starting to click for real and I can repeat today's performance on test day.

zacboro wrote:TWD I really feel like you're just gonna burn yourself out with this two PTs a day thing. What are you hoping to gain from it again? (I know that sounds snarky but I don't mean it to.)
Prior to the middle of last week I had only taken about 20 PTs or so. My most successful string of PTs was when I was pushing myself like I am now. I lost that familiarity with the test I had built because of inattentiveness/lack of focus (taking random week-long periods of time off are not conducive to maintaining high scores). I also find my comfort with the test growing still. I feel like even though last night's score was 170, for instance, it is a nice sign of my growth because I took it at a hindered mental state/capacity bc I had already taken a PT that day and was pretty fatigued.

I also feel like taking two PTs allows me to prepare for any mind state I may have during the test. Throughout my time studying, I've had random bouts of mind-fog during tests, so continuing to PT will help me stay focused and also prepare me in case of said mind-fog on test day.

It's probably a bit much, but I've always been one to prefer more work to less work.

Also am I crazy to think that the adrenaline from being actual test will help increase focus? Even though the highest PT score I've seen is 175, I've got it in the back of my mind that I could easily see above that bc my focus is higher during the test than the PTs.

What are everyones thoughts on doing warm up questions on the morning of test day? I was thinking of doing some LG or LR (perhaps an entire section) right after i eat breakfast in order to get my mental gears turning again.

By my comfort increasing, it's kind of like how sports players describe when they are in a zone and things slow down. I feel the test slowing down and I'm finding the parts that I need to find more easily.

zacboro wrote:TWD - that makes sense. I see where you're coming from with the keeping up with it and staying in the zone. And I think I'm gonna score higher on test day, I know that doesn't happen to the typical TLSer but I also have super focus on real tests. Even on Feb I felt myself feeling amazing (before burnout set in and I spaced lol).

Harry - Test day warmup for me will be just a few LR questions, maybe one game (probably a retake), and no RC. I'm gonna try to do it after breakfast to (like you said) get the mental gears turning. I know of people who took questions to the TC and warmed up there in addition, I did that for Feb. But once you get the mental gears turning I don't think theres much to do because once you enter the TC (and have to ditch warm up materials) you will have about 45 minutes (depending on TC) of rules reading, materials passing out, and signing your booklet and stuff. So none of us have the opportunity of warming up right before we start. But remember not to waste too much game day adrenaline on warmup. Nothing should be timed.

To everyone else - Good luck on prep today! Make the most of it!!!!
Ok, thanks. Perhaps the first 10-12 questions of an LR section and/or a easy - medium level game or two to warm up as opposed to a full section so that I don't burn out? Probably don't want to hit any tough LR questions that can damage confidence so close to test day...

Is it common for the ticket to change? The building it says it is at makes sense, but it says in the lobby, which is weird given that summer classes are happening.

PT 71 LRs are tough as hell. Barely finished LR2 and genuinely concerned about LR1 being a disaster/shitshow. LG was pretty straightforward though, with only one tougher game.
