+1 That is one way to separate yourself from other applicants who may have the same numbers as you. I sets you apart and you don't want it to feel rushed because it will show.nlee10 wrote:You should have started like yesterday.boodlebobs wrote:When do you all recommend starting your personal statement? Hmm... when I was doing college apps for undergrad, my most rushed essays ended up being the most successful... in retrospect it is probably because I did not have time to work them to deathThePiedPiper wrote:+1 That is one way to separate yourself from other applicants who may have the same numbers as you. Actually you should have ignored the prompt for the writing sample and wrote your personal statement there instead.

Yeah for me as well. But I always feel that was undergrad and this is professional school. Your coming straight out of high school than as opposed to having life experiences and four years of college under your belt.ffamran wrote:Hmm... when I was doing college apps for undergrad, my most rushed essays ended up being the most successful... in retrospect it is probably because I did not have time to work them to deathThePiedPiper wrote:+1 That is one way to separate yourself from other applicants who may have the same numbers as you. It's a sticky topic. What you are saying is "can I tell you guys 2-3 hours before the LSAT scores come out that they are coming out?" and the powers that be HATE when I do that. I actually was hoping this wouldn't come upLynnb wrote:Mike spivey can you tweet like i saw you did for June when LSAT does stuff that signifies it's about to release scores?

The average was a -12? That seems surprisingly low. I mean, I think I solved it, but it seems a lot of people failed to solve it and therefore probably missed most of the questions.pleadthafif wrote:The barista at my local coffee shop's friend's babysitter's dad is a data analyst at LSAC. He said we were gonna get scores yesterday but the Hurricane takers pushed it back to tomorrow. Also, the average on Game 3 was -2 so we got a -12 scale.MikeSpivey wrote:This may be the first time in a long while someone hasn't come on here claiming to know someone at LSAC and knowing the day the test scores come out. And sadly about 33% of the board always believes said person :/

No no no. There is exactly one person who knows that right now and he doesn't even tell his boss. But, about 2-3 hours before it comes out a few more know. And it is possible I could hear of it. It isn't even confirmed that would happen.splitterfromhell wrote:Wait...do you know right now what day we'll get scores?MikeSpivey wrote:It's a sticky topic. Yeah, but TLS is generally far above average. The average person here is realistically looking at T14, whereas the average person outside of here is looking at TT and below.theugg wrote:"a lot of people" meaning like 10-15 people on TLS. Spivey's increased presence ITT today means he probably already knows that scores are coming out today

I mean obviously if one looked at the computations behind the curve and everything it would make sense. It's obviously not the case that just because >50% of people miss a question that this means add another point to the curve. But just speaking off the cuff, with the misguided opinion from the previous sentence pervading the back of my mind, a -2 is surprising.

The two aren't mutually exclusive... it could be the truth and we could be thinking itslizerd wrote:Is this truth or just wishful thinking on our part?sollos wrote:Yeah, but TLS is generally far above average.
