I hated when that happened in college right before a big midterm. lolmist4bison wrote:That's good, though! PTs are draining.nlee10 wrote: Entertaining video, lmao.

anyone like the Trainer for RC? I remember reading through like a chapter of it involving RC, but it didn't stick. Worth going back through all the RC chapters? Or should I just focus on drilling?
I like to review the general reading strategies from time to time. They are on page 336

omg....upon my review. PT 34 Game 4 In n out w/ conditional rules. I FORGOT to write down a conditional rule, fml. Wouldve been a perfect -0.

Yeah, this rarely happens as well. There were 5 conditional rules and I did try to mark them as I go. I think what ended up happening was that I premarked off one of the rules before diagramming it and then accidentally marked off another one, haha.Dirigo wrote:This happens to me sometimes. Thankfully very rarely. If I can't figure out the first list question for some reason, I quickly double check the rules to make sure I wrote all of them and wrote them correctly.nlee10 wrote:omg....upon my review. As a safety precaution, it wouldn't hurt to cross them off as you go.
It's all good. I still made a new PT high score today.

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
hello soon-to-be test takers. been a while since I've posted.
I have a question about sitting out december. hope someone can give me some advice.
still scoring high 150s. not satisfied with that..could be doing better. my UG GPA is 3.3. goal is whatever school will give me an ASS LOAD of $$$. not interested in top schools. I want my debt to be minimal, have no debt from UG.
I am 23 and I'd like to stop relying on mom n pops for money. time to start paying for my own shit. I want to pay my way through law school rather than borrow/take their $. I need to pocket at least 20-30k before I go into school, and working full-time from Feb-fall (when school starts) most likely isn't enough time to do that. it isn't..."sufficient."
I have a remaining balance of 8k on a car loan, and that's my only debt. I hate debt....it scares the living shit out of me. being faced with 60k+ in loans for school (and that's on the small side!) when the job market is garbage makes me want to sit in a corner and cut myself. sitting out until next cycle would allow me to use my business degree and get a legit job for a year+ and make some cash.
if you were in my shoes, would you sit out until june and just go for it next cycle? I figure with a (future) score in the 160s, some school will definitely take me and hopefully offer me a huge chunk of money to attend (wishful thinking??). apologies for the long post. but don't really have anybody else to ask who's in this situation. appreciate!

Hillz why you poasting here when you should be writing my PS for me.
@surf, I'll just regurgitate what other more experienced TLSers say:
- What are your goals? If you're shooting for a competitive job (big law, fed clerk, sports/entertainment law, etc.), you won't get it from a lower ranked school. You literally need to be like top 5% of your class to have a shot, and that's hard bro. That's real hard.
- To get a full scholly at a strong regional, you'd need at least a 169, preferably much higher (173+). With 3.3/173, you'll also get a few admits to T14.
3.3/165 will net you fullies probably at schools below 30, which are not worth 3 years of no-income. But if your dream job requires a JD, and there's a reasonable chance you can get it out of law school, then go. If your calling is temp doc review, go for it.

thanks dirigo, peanuts n Jam!
big law definitely not for me. was thinking more family law/real estate. worked in those 2 for a while and really enjoyed it. maybe cause my family is wack? who knows. good info though thanks for those numbers that'll come in handy.
edit- yes I know I won't be making 160k p/yr working in "shit-law" as I hear it is commonly referred to ; )

I wouldn't go into law school with blinders on. Don't commit before you shop around and try other things out. Try before you buy, etc etc.surf wrote:thanks dirigo, peanuts n Jam!

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
from what I've heard, a lot of students go in not knowing what exactly which law they'd like to practice. most haven't even interned at a firm before they start their first year (so I've heard). even interning at a law office can somewhat help you see if it's for you or not. steer you in a certain direction. a couple other interns hated it and gtfo. I think that's at least the first step.
the attorneys at the firm I was at said you'll be exposed to so many different things in school you'll likely get interested in certain areas you never thought you would. wouldn't call it blinders.... not for me, at least.
