Re: The Official June 2015 Waiter's Thread
yeah like theirs so many other dates to choose from but it might have been something they couldnt control like a regulation they needed to immediately delete after a certain time frame. I want to think the lsac server could handle it but every time the tests comes out the site becomes a brick because of all the log in like a ddos atk, but it has to be less than 50,000 people logging in. So i dont think they are the most sophisticateddoublehoohopeful wrote:I hope you're right.benwyatt wrote:I think it's possible, likely even, that those operations are completely separate. From what I've seen in systems that are far larger and more complicated than LSAC's (I'm assuming), you'd be appalled if you knew what they did to those systems at the same time.

The issue is integrating everything (see Healthcare.gov meltdown). When you look at the discrete functions, everything is okay. When you put everything together, you have issues.whacka wrote:This may be totally unrelated, but this tweet might have some hope:doublehoohopeful wrote:I hope you're right.benwyatt wrote:I think it's possible, likely even, that those operations are completely separate. @Official_LSAT Are transcripts processed more slowly this time of year due to scoring? I'm trying to decide if I need to call my registrar.Posted 5 days ago. Now it's definitely not outside the realm of possibility that score purges and score reporting are donw by the same people, but this at least gives me hope that LSAT has a bunch of different operations that work independently and hopefully don't interfere with each other.@EQuillenSmith Hi Edward--no slowdowns occur due to scoring. They are totally separate departments. If you need info: LSACinfo@LSAC.org

What is this score purge and why does it potentially affect our score release?

Re: The Official June 2015 Waiter's Thread
Tomorrow, LSAC is getting rid of all scores that are 5+ years old. The connection to score release is pure speculation, but it isn't too crazy to assume that purging the scores and posting the new scores stresses similar parts of the system and they don't want to break it by doing both at the same time.thriller1122 wrote:What is this score purge and why does it potentially affect our score release?
We've also gotten confirmation from others that their percentiles have changed for previously taken tests (and I think some people said that their old scores have disappeared, maybe I'm hallucinating). The changes may already be in progress.

I think Edward is amongst us. I remember some one mentioned that they wrote LSAC on Twitter and that they responded relatively quick and he's the only person that LSAC has responded to in the last few days or so #Conspiracy

Does anyone else get angry when they check and it's still green? I used to be disappointed now I just get angry at LSAC's slowness

So my September 2014 LSAT percentile just randomly changed (up) 1%. I guess that's because they're deleting old scores? Kind of weird.... I'm going to take this as a sign the GREY is coming

We had reports of this at 9AM. Wouldn't get too excited.tls123456789 wrote:So my September 2014 LSAT percentile just randomly changed (up) 1%. I guess that's because they're deleting old scores? Kind of weird.... I'm going to take this as a sign the GREY is coming
