Has the LSAT caused ne one else to apply a very LSAT approach to disagreements with their SO/wife/husband/bf/gf when my fiancée and I have a disagreement I have been regularly bringing up the principles she's invoking n how they make no sense in relation to what else she's saying n nbd but it's not a very helpful tactic but I can't help it

Yeah, registered for Sept but postponed to Dec.BillPackets wrote:I would second that. At this point I don't feel like I have one clear question type that I'm struggling with, my misses can really come from anytime. So what I've been doing now is two sections of different types a day just to keep working on jumping from type to type. So like Thursday I did an LG and An LR, yesterday I did an LG and an RC. Today is LR then I'm PTing- but if you have some clear types you are struggling with FOCUS your drilling

Sounds like every PT i've ever taken. Although I'm usually more toward the pessimistic side. What's your average?bound wrote:On my break now. Can't tell if performing fucking awesome? Or messing up really really badly....

Well, Officially withdrew from Sept.
My goal is at least a 170 - really a 172+ - and I've been PT'ing in the mid 160's consistently. Going back to drilling and basics, I wont be able to substantially improve my score in that short a time frame.
Best of luck to everyone taking it in two weeks, and for those who are going to take it in Dec. I'll see you on that thread! (Though, I don't know if i'll be ready by Dec. either.)

Can I use this as an oppurtunity to get some advice? I'm PTing around a 165 right now- my target is basically as best as I can get but I'm shooting for Penn so like, a 167 at the very least.
My GPA is a 3.9x.
Postpone or sit? Would I have a shot at Penn you think with a 165?

God damn I finally broke 170 this morning. I guess things really started to click last minute--my last 3 PTs have been 166, 169 and today 171 on 63, 64, and 65 respectively. All I can do now is continue on with what I've been doing and hope that I can score in that range on the 27.

Thanks man!
For Penn, you'd prob get in, but if you wait until you're ready for the LSAT, and get a 170 you'd be looking at money, and possibly HYS with a 173 or so.
As it stands right now, you'd prob get like 3 or 4 or the bottom 7 and maybe 1 or 2 of the top 7, but they'd prob all be at sticker. Schools would much rather have a 3.8/169 than a 3.9/165.
Good luck to you as well =)

Congrats! That's awesome! I'm still stuck at 169. I'm taking today's PT once I get home this afternoon. Been practicing NA questions, difficult LRs, and difficult RC passages this week, so hopefully Ill be crossing that 170 threshold this afternoon!chimera wrote:God damn I finally broke 170 this morning. Re: The Official September 2014 Study Group
Luckily on 65's last game I had 10+ minutes. I didn't make any crazy inferences up front and so had to brute force my way through a lot of the questions, really I was able to do well because of the time, I would have been screwed with 8 minutes or less. I set it up like this: _ _/_ _/_ _ , a line for each half-hour and slash for an hour just to help me remember.
One thing that has really helped me is keeping an LSAT journal. I make entries for each section of a PT besides games, which I redo the next morning over coffee. It helps a lot with LR, which is my biggest weakness. I summarize the stimulus, write why answers are right/wrong, then the most important part is writing a lesson to take from the questions. It takes a long damn time but it helps me. Other than that it's the common advice- drilling weaknesses and review/redo sections that I've already done. Happy to answer any other questions about the journal... I don't think it is recommended enough
Good luck to everyone PTing and studying this weekend. We got this.

simple linear game just a little different with the timing. the block of gg should help + the w t thing should constrain it pretty well.Louis1127 wrote:nice. but how did you ace that last game in 65?
