What does everyone think of the TestMasters banner at the bottom of the thread page? It's interesting the improvements they choose to highlight. I feel like 146 to 161 is not a very large jump all things considered.

I think they are just focusing their marketing on their potential clients. They make a lot more money helping people gain 15 points on the lower end of the score range than gaining 5 points on the higher end and advertising +15 points looks better than +5 points. I think it's much more likely that a person who initially scores in the 140s will seek help from a prep test company than say a person who is already in the 160s. Outside of TLS, many people think a score over 160 is considered pretty good and they also aren't aiming for a T14 school. This is completely based off of my prep course experience and the ~30 people in the class, so take it with a grain of salt.

Why aren't you using Adblock?

And prep courses aren't for smart people. I'd almost say that if a prep course seems like a wise investment for you, you shouldn't go to law school.

So I was going to take PT 74 today but accidentally forgot to bring it to the library with all my other LSAT stuff. Since I took a prep course I can properly infer that I am not smart and this is probably why I forgot it.

Anyway started doing timed sections of PT 43 and felt a little slow after 2 days off. I think I'm just going to alternate going RC timed sections and LG timed sections for the rest of the day. This will probably be beneficial right? Have others seen improvements on PTs after doing timed sections with breaks in between the timed sections?

And this is why no one likes you. Okay.
I understand it's kinda of a douchey thing to say, but from everything I've heard about prep courses, the end result of paying $1000+ and attending classes is usually a score that TLS would consider a decent diagnostic. I don't know of anyone who has gone from the 160s to the 170s by taking a prep course, and that is probably because courses focus on the lowest common denominator for business reasons: there's more money to be made in getting 140s people to 155-160 than there is in taking 160 people to 175, simply because the former group is much larger.

Guys, I just went -0 on a RC section! Granted, I didn't use a bubble sheet and it was a retake, but maybe this means I'm not competely hopeless with RC.

Not to rain on your parade, but RC is probably the worst section for retaking. I decided right away to conserve RC sections because retaking them would be almost worthless.

I agree that it's not completely representative of my RC abilities. However, I don't think retaking RC sections is worthless. Sure, I remember some of the topics vaguely, but I'm learning a lot about the important things that I missed in the passage the first time, like what each part plays in the overall structure. I'm also going through and using POE to definitely eliminate 4 wrong answers, not just going based off of hunches that I remember. I don't see how redoing RC passages is any different from redoing LG where you might remember key inferences. I'm also kinda stuck because I only have about 10 sections of RC that I haven't done, so I'm using ones that I haven't seen in ~9 months.

I'm definitely not ready to start plowing through PTs.
Yeah, do them again if you don't think you understand them well enough. Make sure you choose an answer because you know it's right and eliminated all the other choices. Keep track of questions you get wrong a second time and you'll know what you really need to work on (or just get all right answers the second time :P )

Mediocre performance on PT 40 yesterday.

LR1: -3 (-2)
LG: -4 (messed up one game) (-1)
LR2: -4 (-3)
RC: -3 (-2)

Actual score: 167, blind review: 172

Will review those I got wrong on both actual and BR this afternoon to revisit my thought process. Messing up one of the games kept me out of 170+ range. The bright spot here is getting -3 on an RC section rated "hardest" by 7Sage, with about 3 minutes left to go back and review. I just need to work on mitigating the dumb little errors.

Taking another PT again tomorrow..... going to be the first time in a month (horrible I know). I sound like I'm making excuses but it's hard to take a lot with a full load of classes and work from 830-530 everyday. But, with the long weekend hopefully I'll be able to fit in 2 PTs.

I feel like everyone takes so many, and by the time my prep is done, I will have taken only 10-15 PTs. I've taken countless one-section drills from various PTs, but I guess this doesn't improve my stamina. I feel like I'm screwed for June lol..

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
