Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
I went to check where one of my accounting classes is supposed to meet tomorrow night, and found out the section's been cancelled. Would have been nice of them to tell me. Now I'll end up taking it online, which is easier and less time-consuming, but I do try to take some courses on campus in case I might need some professors to know me well enough to write a LOR. Also, I'm not allowed to register for an online class right now because the semester has already started. So I'll have to have a chat with the registration people tomorrow.
This is where it would be nice to have the LSAT champion belt buckle. I don't think I would get much traction if I just throw a hissy and start in on, "I'll have you know, I get a 180 on like half of my preptests." But flash a little chrome and I bet things get handled with a quickness.

Just went -6 on RC for PT63, did it as my 6th section and endurance really came into play - couldn't even comprehend anything in the last RC passage and went -4 on that passage alone.
Looks like I have to drill RC after all.....sigh

Grades make you eligible for better firms, interviewing gets you the job. It's a bit easier for people with good grades primarily because their grades get them in the door at firms with larger class sizes that can afford to hire more people. And sure, sometimes interviewers will be so impressed with grades that they'll lower the bar for you. And if your grades are really bad, yeah, that'll hurt. But just "below median" is not going to be noticeably different than just above median. You'll generally be interviewing with firms in the same gpa range."TheMikey wrote:I understand. It's just kind of awkward as to how an irrelevant (assuming irrelevant aka non-legal) job could help. I could be wrong, but I assume that's why people say KJD hurts you during OCI IF you don't have grades that'll most likely get you hired.TheMikey wrote:I see people saying around here, what exactly does this mean? I really want a full ride, but I keep seeing people with dope numbers who were KJDs and got short-changed.
I haven't been through the process (obv), but that's what I've picked up based on the other forums.

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
Just saw my admissions ticket. I've been told by people at my school who have taken the LSAT at my school that they take it in this certain building with lecture halls. I go to the same school where i'll be taking the LSAT, and I have classes in these lecture halls where the LSAT is supposedly administered so I'll be comfortable there. But I'm confused as to why we have to meet in the student union building o.O That shit is all the way across campus, they got me FUCKED UP.

LSAC has the address for my test center listed incorrectly. It says it's at the Law School, but that is on E Speedway and they have it listed as W Speedway. smh scrubs.

So I printed my ticket and my photo all of a sudden didn't fit in the box (it completely did before when I viewed it online). I emailed LSAC and got this response that I thought might be helpful for some other people worried about their photo:
"The format of your photo meets the guidelines of an acceptable photo. We understand that it is difficult to fit your photo perfectly into the box, so as long as it is reasonable close, it is OK. If you can be easily identified in person when compared to your photo, you should be fine."

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
So I was doing an LG section and took a bit too long on an easier in/out game. I'm usually really good with these and can do them quick, but for some odd reason I got stuck and it took me a very long time. Just watched the vid explanation for the game, and JY just changed the way I see in/out games. I didn't go through the in/out game lessons since these have always been my strongest games, but JY simply made this in/out game rules like a simple conditional chain you would see in a sequencing game. I've never actually done this with an in/out game, and never actually thought of it this way, but it sure as hell does seem a shit ton easier. I guess I found my new strategy for in/out games that have rules that can link up together

Do you guys do 15 in 15 for LR? I'm able to do 10 in 10, but am usually at the 17,18 min mark when I'm finished with #15. And I usually finish sections right in time, never have time to check answers. I'm at around -6,-7 total for LR.

probably half and half. sometimes I'll be at the 16-17 mark by the time I finish #15. if it's hard I'll be at 18:00 but never past that. 15 in 18 is still good time as long as the questions that are slowing you down are indeed difficult questions and you aren't just staring at a question or something.StopLawying wrote:Do you guys do 15 in 15 for LR? What are you guys planning on eating for breakfast and bringing for lunch?![]()
Also what time do you guys plan on waking up?
Breakfast: probably an egg sandwich or cereal
1 RC passage, 1 LG, and 10 LR questions as a warm-up after breakfast and then head to the TC!
Lunch: a bag of pretzels, water, a granola bar.
For June I didn't even get a chance to eat the granola bar, only some pretzels but this time I'll do things differently!

PT 77:
RC: 0
LR1: -4
LG: 0
LR exp: 0
LR2: -1
raw: 96
scaled: 176
Beat the 175 at long last. Which is good, because that means I can finally let myself watch Legally Blonde.

Ooooooo everyone is taking PT77 today.
My results from this AM--fresh, clean, never tampered with, virgin prep test: 176 (-1/-2 LR, -1 RC, -1 LG)
Now it's Tort's turn to show up Alex and I with a straight up 180. Good luck guy!

This sounds like such a good plan. I'm totally copying you when I take the LSAT. I think a bag of pretzels is good because it's light and salty, and a granola bar tricks your stomach into thinking its full. As opposed to stuffing food down your throat in the 15 minute break and going through a food coma and your brain shutting/slowing down.TheMikey wrote:6 a.m.xolailaxo wrote:SERIOUS QUESTION(S) Y'ALL!!!!
