Perhaps. Jealous of your LR/RC scores tho.Seamus887 wrote:Ha wow I'm retarded. Ok I mixed up sections, going back to review I bombed the LG sectionSeamus887 wrote:So I was mistaking about the lame logic game, that was pt 59, took 60 tonight.
173
LG -0
LR1 -6!!!
LR2 -0
RC -2
What the bloody hell was wrong with me on that first LR section I do not know, but it ruined a possible exceptional scoreBut then again I did guess on 3 of the last game in the LG section, somehow got them all right...
LG -6
LR1 -0
LR2 -0
RC -2
Why can I not get these freaking games down!!!! Blind review this morning and the games are actually not bad and I get all right that I missed. Would have got a 180 if I wasn't so retarded on games last night. Maybe taking test at 9PM was a factor?

I am aware and wasn't going to change it but then thought "Na, they probably won't be too salty about it." Besides, chemistry cat is awesome and shouldn't be limited to just one person. I'm hoping chemistry cat brings me luck in 3 weeks like he did for the 180er.RZ5646 wrote:Jackel, a 180er from a year or two ago already has that avatar.

nah. I'm still studying the same amount, I'm just not really posting each day's worth on here. Just a little over 3 weeks left!zacboro wrote:Jackel I'm so happy you're actually taking this June!! Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Hey guys -- any advice for somebody who has taken a dip in their scores on the last two PTs? I took 58 and 59 yesterday and today and got a 165 and 166 respectively after scoring consistently 170-172 the last 8 or so other tests? There isn't any one "main culprit" -- all my questions wrong went up proportionally on all the sections. A little discouraged, but I know this is how these things go. Just trying to not make it into a trend with 3 weeks to go. Ironically my best scores have been usually after being away from the rest for a few days... I know that is probably a good thing but doesn't feel to comforting right now.

some community college classrooms lock their classes during weekends at least in my area. if there is a small college nearby then maybe try using its library? usually they have libraries open till late night.whacka wrote:Having trouble tracking down a good study spot for the weekends - now that I'm back home from school, it's hard to escape distractions from my family, and the public library closes at 5 on Saturday and isn't open on Sunday. I wonder if a local community college will let me use a classroom or something.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
How do you guys go about reviewing RC sections after checking the answers that you got wrong during a timed take? I often look back at my answers and just be like, "oh, i missed that specific word/phrasing/sentence in the reading." If I spend a long time reading a passage, I'll get all the questions right, but under timed conditions I do very poorly. How do you improve from these kinds of mistakes?
Also, do any of you guys worry about remembering the answers to the questions you use to drill when you try to take the full PT under timed conditions? I sometimes remember the exact question and I feel like I'm cheating when I recognize it.

Haha the only reason I'm taking June is because I can't let myself postpone a 3rd time. But it is nice that friends are still around. Rigo is off on an adventure without internet and Shak is around still but is taking in October since it'll be her third take, I think. Pepp is off being a model somewhere, or just really busy with work and studying. Nlee is still here. Smalls is here sometimes, but I guess he has more important things like saving the world.zacboro wrote:Jackel I'm so happy you're actually taking this June!! Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Got a 168 on PT 66 yesterday
RC -9
LR -3
LG -0
LR -1
So even after drilling almost all of the Cambridge RC passages, my RC still sucks. I'm not really running out of time, I think I just pick a lot of trap answer choices so I'll read through the RC parts of the trainer today and drill. All of my mistakes in LR were me missing a key word/phrase in the stimulus or switching my answer from the right one to the wrong one due to overthinking. But with more PTs I should be able to fix that. I found the PT to be pretty easy overall, so the curve wasn't too surprising. Kinda disappointing that the -9 on the RC alone pretty much kept me out of the 170s. It's also frustrating when I BR in the 178/179 range but can't consistently be in the 170s on timed tests.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Yeah, I just drilled them. I spend a lot of time upfront making sure I know how the rules play into the game board I set up and different scenarios that may come about.Seamus887 wrote:What did you do to get down LG? Just drill? I have been doing that for about 3 months and still make stupid mistakes or get thrown off by a slightly off game...starting to wonder if I will get it down before June.
But they came very easily to me once I learned the foundations so I had them down after taking a month or so of a prep course last summer. I think a lot of people on TLS think that there's some correlation between people who are good at math and people who find LG easier, so since my major is very math based that may be why they seemed easier for me?
