Whenever I get one of the easy LR questions wrong, I seriously feel like smashing my head into the wall.

Just bombed another RC. PT65
LR: -6
AR: -5 (Too slow to get to the last four questions)
RC: -11

My brain has shown no capability of learning or improving RC in the past 3 months. This sucks.

Also, all four games in 65 are pretty easy so it's really disappointing that I screwed it up. I was making pretty good time on the first three, so I'm not sure what the deal was.

has your only method been to do timed RC sections? try untimed sections and take as long as you need to, just like you would when you first started LR and LG. it seems like you are trying something similar to doing timed sections of LG without having much foundation in the first place.

Yeah, I had been doing that with all sections though. I'll give untimed a shot, certainly can't hurt.

Thought the last game was tough, also found the blackmail passage really difficult. Tough test overall but good curve.

What's more annoying is crushing the harder games in the set and getting thrown by the easier ones. The last game in that set was worded *really* weirdly.

Doing the BR now of LR and there were some odd questions that seemed sort of unfamiliar...LR2 #23 I really don't get between B/D...I'm sure this could be one that I got wrong but I don't really have justification as of yet for one over the other... trying to figure it out now.

Curious,

Does anyone glance at the questions first on a comparative passage and if there's questions asking about passage A or B ONLY, do you read one passage and then answer the question(s) for that one alone?

Saw someone say something like this on 7sage, then watched June 2007's explanation vid for the comp passage and JY somewhat recommended this.

I don't do this. I usually read the two passages and then hit the questions. If the question asks you something such as a word in context, I feel you would be wasting your time looking at the questions first. If you end up trying out this suggested method, let us know what happens!

My attempt at getting a family member to go to the store to get me ice cream has failed. I suppose my argumentative and persuasion skills are not "on fleek". RIP. Now I have to get off my lazy ass and go get it myself

Ugh, it's hard not to worry about test day. The thought of retaking seems so arduous.

BRUH I just gave in and went to the grocery store solely to buy Ben & Jerrys. It was closed for labor day. Went to another one. also closed. finally found an open store and they were out of ice cream.

I don't know, I think someone who performs as well as you should love taking the LSAT. I can't keep myself away even though I'm almost almost positive that I'm not going to law school.

I think I'd be overly unconcerned about test day if I were getting the scores you are.

I think it's just scary that my scores have been dropping, though it's likely due to burnout.
And damn, why are you taking the LSAT then?

What's keeping me calm is that I really just want to go to UVA with money. So, like, a 172 will get the job done.

Blegh... 67

Act; RC -4; LR1 -3; LG -5; LR EXP -1 (stupid mistake...literally the first question); LR 2-2 85/101; 167
BR; RC -3; LR1-2; LG -0; LR EXP -0; LR 2 -2; 93/101; 173

The LG was a complete joke, but, in reality, I still missed 2 in that section which would have put me at 88/101 :|

1. I want that sweet LSAT champion belt buckle.

2. I can teach the LSAT with a 175, but a 180 might make me consider moving to a larger market and teaching LSAT for big bucks.

3. Next time I get arrested, I'll have the smug satisfaction that nobody in the courtroom has a higher LSAT score than me.

4. All my lawyer friends are already jealous, but now they will be more so.

5. I could join the International Society for Philosophical Enquiry with a 176 or higher.

6. Any time I become dissatisfied with my career, I can be all, "Fuck this noise, I'm going to law school," and it will be a credible threat.

7. If Obama for some reason decides to go back to teaching law, I could probably talk myself into applying to his school.

8. I'm pretty sure I can't get into Harvard even with a 180, but if I get a 180 I might apply just to make them say no.

PT70: 176 (-2/-0 LR, -1 RC, -2 LG)

It's probably gauche to bitch about a 176, but I'm going to be that asshole anyway. I'm still making stoopid fucking errors on LG! WTF?! Seriously, I destroyed this PT. I suplexed it into the ropes. But, no matter how good I get on this test, I way too frequently go -2/-3 on LG (-5 on the June administration). And this on the "most learnable" section. Drives me nuts.

Anyway, rant off. I intend to have a date with 7sage tonight where we quaff a bottle of Beaujolais together while discussing the finer points of in/out games. En vino veritas.

So, I had a dismal games showing today, but are you finishing too fast / running off intuition too much? I can (provided some game doesn't totally baffle me) generally answer 3/4 questions without diagramming anything and maybe miss one out of every ten questions that way. If you have the time left over and are generally answering based on intuition, I would just recommend quickly checking whether the answer works by applying whatever test would be relevant (i.e. for a MBF, plug it in while trying *not* to break the game)... same for CBT and min/max (try one above and below your answer [or just in one direction if the others are eliminated from previous work]... min/max are the bane of people who run on intuition I feel...

This is a good call. Yes, I'm answering mostly off intuition and finishing around 30 minutes with 5 minutes left to check. Apparently, I'm getting sloppy in my double checking process. I'm going to try your system next time. Might not get the volume of "checks" completed but might actually pick up a question here or there by being more robust. Thanks man! 8)
