I started the New Year by paying off the credit card with the highest interest rate. Feels good. Now if only I didn't still have other credit card debt, a car loan, a student loan and medical expenses. #adulting

Thanks! To be honest, I don't even know. I feel slightly overwhelmed with where to start, which prep books to get, if I should do a class or not...ColonizeMars wrote:Welcome! whats your game plan?NoAngel wrote:It looks like I'll be taking the June LSAT, so I thought it would be a good idea to join y'all in here.

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
LSAT Prep left to do:
20 Hours before winter semester begins
170 Hours during winter semester
120 Hours between winter and spring semester
50 Hours between start of spring semester and LSAT
Total of: 360 Hours + Around 100 hours or so I've already done (Currently at point where I can do all LG types untimed and back when I was doing LR prep I was getting around 90% right within the time limit)
So I essentially have 360 hours to get LG timing down, solidify LR at 90% accuracy or slightly improve upon that, and hopefully increase RC from 20-22 to 25+
I'm in Canadaland so realistically I only really need a score of 164-165~ to guarantee I get into my desired school but I still want 170+ on practice to account for test day drop and to maximize my chances of scholarship money

I spent the entire day reviewing MSS questions and writing down explanations in my LR notebook UGH. I have three more questions to do which I think I will save for tomorrow.

Like Rigo suggested, I'd go to The Trainer too. It does a great job getting you through the early stages of prep. TLS also has a ton of information on pretty much everything you'll need for the prep; Here is user TLS1776's approach on cracking the LSAT, he got a 180. I wouldn't suggest you buy all the books you find interesting or that people suggest you in this forum though. Get a decent grasp on LSAT's concepts and strategies, and then buy those that may help you bridge the gap. Just take it slow, and ease in into a routine. That's my two centsNoAngel wrote:Thanks! Checking in
- I'm planning on finishing the manhattan books before the end of winter break (200 Hrs)
- Next, I'm going to move onto the bibles and plan on having them done towards the middle of the semester (100ish Hrs)
- From there, I plan on taking timed sections and as many full LSATs as I can with a full review until June (450ish Hrs)
This comes out to
(200 hrs) January
(100 hrs) February, March and April
(250 hrs) May - Test Day
I am planning on buying the LSAT Trainer between June and the September test if necessary.

What up LSAT family!?
I woke up late ~9:30ish, and spent the entire morning (post breakfast of course!) reviewing all the MSS questions from my notebook yesterday. Needless to say, I have a giant MSS headache. That said, the reasoning (I think and hope), is drilled into my head.
ColonizeMars and Bing, thank you so much for your support. It really is frustrating having this "thing" with MSS questions.. I started off hating the question type, I'm now in the toleration phase, I am hoping all this hard work will soon place me in the "I <3 MSS questions" phase.

Good luck with your prep! I highly recommend considering 7Sage for reviewing and drilling LG, and using Trainer this time around for LR/RC.Liammurphy1 wrote:Checking in

I have been having a lot of trouble with MSS questions and after reviewing some of the responses from the MLSAT forums, a breakdown of a 7Sage LR question, and the Trainer chapter, I think my reasoning is beginning to improve and move into a higher accuracy stage.

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
Hey guys,
Hoping one of you can answer my question. I am really stuck about what to do for prepping. On one hand, I don't want to spend much and feel like Manhattan LR, Manhattan RC, and the Blueprint LG book should suffice. On the other hand, I feel that enrolling in an online prep course like Blueprint LSAT would help me to focus better. My question is, if I go the self-study route with books, do those books come with some kind of schedule that tells you what you need to study each day? Also do those books assign homework for each day? I need something that is going to get me to do work daily. That is why I feel the online course through Blueprint might benefit me more. However, I do not know much about Blueprint's online course so I don't know if anyone can tell me more about it. Like how long do you get access to the course once you enroll and etc.? If you can tell me any more info I would really appreciate it. I have always been the type of person to be easily distracted so I need something that this time around will keep me focused. I had tried studying for the LSAT a year and a half ago and well.. it didn't work out too well. Ended up scoring a 146 and going through a phase of hopelessness. Needless to say, I'm back to wanting to kick ass on the LSAT and i'm turning 25 in February so I refuse to push off law school anymore. IT'S HAPPENING THIS TIME or else i'm moving to a remote island where no one knows me and can't ask me why I"m 25, single, and have no career.

The guides don't come with a schedule. You'll need to set your own. Also look into Cambridge drilling packets to practice before you hit PT's.
And a remote island sounds pretty sweet tbh. Maybe I'll do that. (#25andsingle)

Thank you. I've heard of Cambridge LSAT before so I will be looking into getting some of the drilling packets to help me practice as I learn new material. Don't know how i'm going to make my own schedule though. I guess I can figure it out. Or maybe I can use the one from the LSAT Trainer. I have that printed out from when I attempted to use the book a year and a half ago lol. If only I knew where the book was..Rigo wrote:The guides don't come with a schedule. I've always found those premade schedules to not be that great. It's hard to say what your strengths and weakness are going to be until you actually start back up. Just work with your schedule.
I'm going to start studying early in the morning before work since I'm so distracted/tired in the evening. That's actually my NYR: to become a morning person when it comes to LSAT.
A lot of LSAT studying is trail and error. Find what works for you!

Suh dudes, stoked to take the June LSAT. I'm doing about a half hour everyday of LSAT Trainer and Powerscore LR and LG Bibles. Honestly RC is surprisingly my weakest section right now. So I might get the Powerscore RC Bible and work from that if I start maxing out on LG. Lord knows I have the time. Also have PT53-77 for the last few weeks before June.
Oh also I took the 2014 February LSAT after taking PT52 & scored 161. So that's what I'm working from.
