I'm kind of amazed that some of you guys know your grades and cut offs down to the decimal place. Is that a big school thing?

I went to a school of less that 2000 and my largest class was maybe 50 kids, average like 15. Everything was graded by hand by the professor and there was no transparency at all. Sometimes I think professors were literally just pulling grades out their ass the day before they were due.

I just calculate what my grade should be based off what it says on the syllabus. If I feel the need to question my grade I just ask the professor to go how they calculated it with me. I've gotten one or two very unfair grades changed this way. Our school requires the professors to clearly state how they will calculate grades on the syllabus.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. Looks like I'll be keeping the take and crossing my fingers.

In regards to having A+'s in grading schemes, it might not be as great as it seems. There are enforced quotas at my school for how many A's can be handed out in each class. Professors must report to the department Dean if one of their classes ends up with an average is too high (guideline is 67%/C+). Grade deflation has been heavily documented at my UG.
