Re: February 2013 LSAT Study Group
Pretty sure I am PT'ing on both Thurs and Fri. I've got two left, and I don't want to take one tomorrow (today technically). I really don't think studying intensively or PT'ing the day before has much of an effect on one's mental capacity for the next day, though I suppose it's better to get most out it out of the way earlier in the day, which is what I'll be doing. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day: 1. Grouping/Assignment Drilling 2. Grouping/Assignment review in Bible and Manhattan 3. Four RC sections 4. Extensive PR drilling 4. Light drilling of all other LR types 5. Whatever the hell else I can bring myself to do.

Again, if you're on the cusp of a breakthrough, yes. I'm pretty sure yesterday was a breakthrough for me in LR. Past few weeks I had winnowed it down to 2-4 combined usually and I was holding steady, but I went -0 combined on 62's LR yesterday and I honestly have never felt better or more in control on LR before. I had very clear reasons for every answer I picked, and I finished with a few minutes to spare each time. So yes, it's possible.natashka85 wrote:I am drilling 10 questions from each LR type,

Today and tomr,do u guys think that this will sharpen my skills to handle the test 68 on Thursday?

Re: February 2013 LSAT Study Group
Thanks for your LG advice, all. That "relevant discussion" was a helpful reminder.
Ended up finishing Manhattan LG, did PT 57's LG section (dinosaurs was so much easier than expected!), and a TON of Cambridge drilling. Just took PT 62 and went -1 on LG, so I think I've successfully shaken off some cobwebs.
Unfortunately, went -3 on LR1 (worst LR in a long while), and -4 on RC (had thought I was down to -3 at the worst, boo). Seems like whenever I make progress on one section, I lose it in another. Gah. Hopefully I'm just overtired..
Debating when/how to take 63-68. All I've definitely got planned is 68 on Friday, 67 Thursday.. thoughts?

Take 67 as your last test. Much better to give you a good confidence boost going into Saturday IMO.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:Thanks for your LG advice, all. That "relevant discussion" was a helpful reminder.

Hey guys. First time really doing any posting on this site, but I've been frequently lurking the conversation and something just told me to join in. Plus, I'm sure I'll need a bit of a support group come waiting time. So... nice to cyber meet you all
I'll be drilling away today and tomorrow (maybe a little Friday). If anyone's testing near Folsom, CA let me know!

My scores have also dropped, ugh
PT67
LR -3
LR -3
LG -0
RC -4
LGX -2 (PT65)
90/100, 170
LR has become a problem all of a sudden. I think I'm going to do a thorough review of LR and do PT 68 tomorrow. At this point, just hoping for the best come Saturday.

I am beginning to think we might be overstudying. Just did a LG section and got -3... on the heels of a -3 and -5 section. I used to never get any LG wrong...Jcastro1 wrote:My scores have also dropped, ugh

Does anyone else feel this way?????? Maybe just not studying for a couple days is the solution, but doing that scares me.

I would take the studying down a notch. It sounds like you guys are starting to burn out. Maybe take the rest of day and just do some drilling tomorrow?gobosox wrote:I am beginning to think we might be overstudying. Just did a LG section and got -3... on the heels of a -3 and -5 section. I do just feel sick of studying. I remember the good 'ol days when I used to enjoy studying and all the 'aha' moments after reviewing PTs or doing tough games. Now I can't wait to be over with this shit.

I definitely know how you feel. I felt like I'm dragging myself through every section I drill (another question? really? maybe i should just take a break...). It will all be over in just a few days though! I'm going to take it pretty easy these next few days - I feel like nothing I can do between now and Saturday will change my score, except for a few good night's rest, yummy food and some yoga.Jcastro1 wrote:I do just feel sick of studying. You may want to take at least a day off and then come back. Often doing worse on something is a sign of overdoing it, and a break will allow whatever it is you've been trying to improve on to sink in more thoroughly.Jcastro1 wrote:My scores have also dropped, ugh

If any of you all are planning on using a watch and have not bought one, bear in mind that a watch with a loud tick can be very distracting. The one I initially bought was way too loud, and I had to exchange it. The Citizen Eco Drive that I now have has a very nice, faint tick.

Why 67 versus 68? Is 67 easier?gobosox wrote:Take 67 as your last test. Much better to give you a good confidence boost going into Saturday IMO.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:Thanks for your LG advice, all. That "relevant discussion" was a helpful reminder.

Two things, my 180 watch broke and I spilt Gatorade all over PT 68 in the middle of the RC... lol. Does anyone know if you can buy it online and print it off?
Someone in the library decided to plop down right next to me and start typing like a maniac. I mean, they were legit hitting 120 wpm which is impressive but damn, that is the most annoying sound ever... I freaked and hit my Gatorade over which I guess I hadn't secured thoroughly. :/

I thought so. Also, I have a theory that back to back tests will be dissimilar. Mostly that I thought it was easier.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:Why 67 versus 68? Taking PT 66 today, then planning on just one or two LG and LR sections each day leading up to Saturday.
Recommendations for a warmup LG/LR section on the day of? Something not too tough, I want to feel good about it and just get juices flowing.
I'll have PT 63, 64, and 65 available. Want to save one LG and one LR from those.

ready for saturday so i can feel accomplished and move the fuck on with my life
have no more recent PTs to do
just did PT27
LR1 -3
LG -2
RC -4
LR2 -6
cant believe the -6, missed 5 of 7 questions towards the end. my mind was not in it i just wanted to be done. poor mistakes.
amazingly with the curve i actually scored a 171. but a -16 curve, well, better chance of hitting the lotto then getting a -16 these days
not gona go crazy studying these last few days. just enough to stay warm.

Took PT 65 (with 64 RC EXP)
86/101, 169.
EXP RC: -5
RC: -7
LG: -4
LR: -4 combined
I think I just need to take a break. I'm scoring consistently lower than I ever have been and I'm demoralized. I'll just do some light drilling on LG tomorrow, maybe a RC section.
No more full PTs, I think.

Perfect LR, missed one on LG b/c of time...but went -5 on RC. Ugh.
I actually didnt mind as much because as I was taking it, all I could think was: "Man this RC is a tough section." It was easily the hardest I've taken.

PT 68 was perfect up until the 3rd game which absolutely wrecked me for the 4th (which was also hard?)
