First time but nerves have screwed with me quite a bit on PTs and obviously I can expect that factor to be substantially greater on the actual test.
A regret of mine was not drinking coffee the day of the June LSAT. Rip

I haven't been keeping up with TT this time around, but are you a retaker?

If you're feeling shaky or nervous during the exam, put down your pencil and just regain your composure by focusing on your breathing. Slow everything down and talk yourself down. The 5-15 seconds you'll use doing this will be worth the 15 minute freak out. You want to get to a point in your practice where everything becomes mechanic and second nature that you go into autopilot the day of.

Also don't talk to any betas on the line while you wait to get checked in. 8) Or ask your doc for beta blockers.
Thank you! That's really helpful. and haha, sounds like a plan. 8) I think I'm also gonna try to limit my caffeine intake. Not enough coffee > Too much coffee, in terms of mental clarity (at least for me.)

Re: caffeine - I think that's a good plan. I think drinking coffee the day of screwed me up a little bit too because you're already functioning on some adrenaline, and caffeine can push you over the edge. I got super jittery the first section. Granted, there were also people in my TC who were drinking Redbull so...
Good to know!
(Redbull during LSAT nope no nope yikes yikes yikes)

If you need a cup of coffee to get out of bed in the morning, that's one thing. But I feel like any more caffeine than that is too much.

PT 48 : 172 (95 raw)

LR: -2
LG: -0
RC: -4 (EXP)
RC: -3
LR: -1

First time getting LR under -3 and second consecutive LG at -0. The back-to-back RC was pretty brutal. My second RC section I missed 2/3 questions in the last passage, which was on the topic of science(Bores me to death) and I rushed it due to running out of time. I like RC in a weird way. Its always been my strong point in test-taking. Very pleased with the results but now I just gotta make this a consistent thing.
That's huge, congrats!! I've just started to break into the high 160 range after being stuck in the mid-160s for like a month, do you have any pointers for what you did, or was it just a matter of getting your reps in?
Thank you! You will break through the plateau. It seems to be just getting your reps in and relaxing/taking your time. On this PT, I was super calm and just did what I had been practicing.

Not necessarily the best, but I get wired on caffeine pre-PT. I like the high intensity. Not too much though. But if you get to the point of tweaking/sweating/pulsating then thats no fun and def not healthy haha

there is nothing in the vicinity of the quote that's referred in the question that suggests the credited choice D is correct. choices A and B are i think attractive even if someone read the passage carefully. i'm not sure there are any other lsat questions that refer to a quote or line and the purpose of the quote or phrase isn't clear right before or after the referred quote.
how did you explain to yourself or get to the point when reading the passage or doing this question where you picked D?
[+] Spoiler
I think you can eliminate A and B pretty easily because whichever composer you think is being referred to, the author of the passage doesn't think it's an accurate account and in fact has a much more positive opinion of both composers. In the third paragraph the author shows how that characterization of Beethoven has changed over time, which sums up the reason for including the opening quote. The following paragraphs lay out the case for a similar change in opinion toward Schoenberg.
yeah, that makes sense, thanks.
any particular approach you have to see such things when reading or when faced with such questions? what made you refer back at a paragraph much farther from the quote or you just eliminated others and got to the credited choice based on your initial read without referring back?
[+] Spoiler
i thought it was tough to be able to connect the first line quote to third paragraph under actual test conditions (it's level 4 difficulty in 7sage) as the inference is somewhat non-explicit. these are the qs that worry me about rc.

usually in such questions where lines are referenced, the purpose of the lines can be gleaned from the sentences bookending those lines. it doesn't hold true for this case.

That's where I'll be in December. Were you in one of the lecture halls or a classroom with crappy desks?

I was put in a quiet lecture hall room. Lots of space on the desk, they separated us with 1 chair in between each person. I'm almost positive that everyone is placed in lecture halls because as I was going to my room with my group, we were passing all of the other rooms with test takers and they were all lecture halls with long tables. You should be good.

There's a high likelihood that my registration picture doesn't meet the criteria necessary for admission to the testing center, so I guess I'll see ya'll in December. At least I have an extra three months to prep, (trying to stay positive).

If only 1 pt of 73 or 78 can be taken, which one should it be?
If you can only take one, take one as a timed PT, take the other as timed sections.

ETA - I haven't taken 78 yet, so can't speak to its "difficulty."
thanks, will give this a try.

Phew - good to know. I took it at Brooklyn last time and it was a shit show. Registration/check in was fine, but the temperature of the room was ridiculous. Nervous to do a new TC but heard great things about Pace.

Yeah! Wish I could take it at Pace again but I'm taking at my UG this time and I know the rooms where they administer the test so I feel like I will be comfortable there. I've heard terrible things about Brooklyn, lmao.

Hmm, see, I knew I wasn't bugging out lmao. I feel like I got most points taken off on those 2 passages, although I haven't reached RC in my BR yet.

I think our tickets become printable on the 7th, right? So those of us that don't know should be able to find out where the test'll actually be pretty soon. (Although my center's changed test location day of multiple times apparently so who knows.)

On the (slightly over) 15 min break between PT 32 and 42 right now.

Yeah, but I remember when I took it, on the Brooklyn TC ticket, the room that they put was the room where everyone congregated for the pre-check in before they broke you up to go to your individual rooms.

Also I remember there being a lengthy discussion on the forums about whether it's permissible (by LSAC standards) to visit a TC lol.
