IDK there are some kind of pvp battles but from what I've read it's just like tapping/swiping your screen, no actual moves involved. Also you don't battle the pokemon you catch, you just chuck a ball at them. So all of the strategy that made the pokemon games fun and interesting seems to have been stripped away
