I think the "quality over quantity" mantra vastly undersells the importance of quantity. More exposure to the test is always better. And the same is true of in-depth review. So in an ideal world, you should aim for both quality and quantity.

Churning through PTs without review is a bad idea. But so is taking too few PTs. So throw caution to the wind, and do it all. YOLO.*

*Or, you know, three times within a two year period.
I mean, this is a fairly obvious point, and I wasn't advocating that a person should focus *exclusively* on quality, otherwise I would have emphasised that. This is why I asked if the exams were new, especially since he's advocating doing this the week before he can withdraw or whatever. A little surprised that you would attribute that shoddy viewpoint to me, BP Ben! But yes, applause for the substantive post.

OP, why are you still here?

Because it's summer break and I'm at my parents' house and have nothing better to do.

Each of our posts expressed an opinion of degree. You said quality over quantity, I said I'd rate them about the same. Some people in the prep community think there isn't much intrinsic value in sheer volume of material covered. Based on my own experience, I disagree with those people. All valid viewpoints.

To clarify, my post was directed to that particular situation. Obviously, a rule of thumb should be that quantity and quality should be weighed equally.

Here's the scenario - if the poster had a week to do 4 new tests, I suggested that in that timeline, it would probably be better for OP to do half of that, but do a comprehensive blind review. If the poster could have done the 4 tests with equal amounts of blind review, then that would be the ideal. But, we can all acknowledge that would probably be unrealistic.

Anywho. Hi Toki - you ED'd to Fordham yet?

No that's stupid. You're saying that because about half of situations will require a focus on quantity and the other half will require a focus on quality, but you can't just split the difference. It's analogous to making a general rule that you should prescribe half a dose of some drug to every patient because half of them need a full dose and the rest don't need it at all. Then every patient dies.

I'd take that. I'd even trade LG for another RC honestly.

LG can be kinda cool when you treat it like a puzzle or game, but I can only take that so far. LR is much more interesting and I do actually enjoy figuring out the harder questions, plus each question is a self-contained, bite-sized unit. RC is boring but I tend to do well on it, so it's alright I guess.

It's 77 here right now mid-day, which is basically perfect weather. And I'm stuck inside taking PT 64 today.

Apparently some people call CWRU the "Harvard of Ohio."
