I have a Masters in Information Technology, which I completed two years ago. I have roughly two decades in the field, half of this in InfoSec.

Are any of the waiters straight out of UG? How many of us have work exp.?

I've been out for a year and have worked at the same firm for three - internship turned into a FT position.

That's what I looked like at around 8:45 a.m. last Saturday.
Excellent. See you at Yale in August, then?
Pft. Considering the previous ranking system linked in this thread, Cooley is looking like the more practical option.

I'll be straight out of UG and I'm graduating in three years :( I've worked throughout though so I'm hoping that will slightly mitigate the KJD status

I'm envious (in a way) of your ability to positively impact your GPA. Once I really decided law school was my next step my GPA was nearly set in stone. Hindsight is always 20/20.

One year out. Been working a bullshit job while living at home/studying for the LSAT. I know law school isn't fun, but I'm bored as shit right now.

Do schools look down on KJD? Does it significantly affect how they evaluate your application?

Some schools more than others. Northwestern in particular has a demonstrated preference for work experience, and sometimes for KJDs with stellar numbers they'll offer a great scholarship contingent upon them deferring for a year and working. Also of course this is anecdotal, but a lot of people are speculating that Harvard has been caring more and more about work experience in recent years. Being KJD also just makes it difficult to have good softs, for whatever those are worth, because no one cares if you were a member of a bunch of clubs or whatever.

Kindergarten straight through to law school (JD) with no off years, thus K-JD

Here's another anecdote: a friend of mine is at H now after doing K-3UG-JD :-)
