Didn't see that hahaha. Thanks I'll take a look now.Rigo wrote:Check the first post of this thread for my suggestions.Spence334 wrote:Hey guys!
I'm looking to take the October test and was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction in regards to books and other prep material. I read the guides, advice and tools thread already, but a lot of the recommended material is old and from what I understand outdated.

Don't want to explain too explicitly, but basically I'm moving to a really remote mountain landscape and working on conservation projects. Won't have Internet apart from driving into town every couple of weeks or so, so a TLS break is imminent for me.RZ5646 wrote:Also curious about this.biggestlawman wrote:So, Rigo, what is this grand wild tour that you have planned?

I think I will miss Rigo. Especially if he's eaten by the Yosemite bears.RZ5646 wrote:The question isn't whether Rigo can survive without TLS, but whether TLS can survive without RIgoRigo wrote:Don't want to explain too explicitly, but basically I'm moving to a really remote mountain landscape and working on conservation projects. Well I'm watching this horror movie and one of the characters has godawful Zoey Deschanel bangs, and I'm thrilled that she's obviously going to be killed off first (the other two main characters are the protagonist and her love interest).biggestlawman wrote:OP, no long opinion piece tonight??![]()
Beyond that, I don't really have anything to rant about tonight. I've been pretty mellow since school ended.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
How is everyone this morning? What is on the agenda for prepping today? I am thinking of doing some sufficient assumption questions, some in-out games, and some generic grouping games today.
It seems that soon I'd be shipped to my next project at my day job. Sad, but I just need to use every minute available for prepping from here on.
Finishing up my red eye and hoping for a 10 am start.

Purchased the LGs from PTs 1-39 ordered by difficulty.
I'm at the point now where I can do every game with 90%+ accuracy, but I still need to get most games done 3-4 minutes faster.
I'll take 3-4 PTs the week before the postpone date, if I get 167+ in all of them I'll take, if not it'll be October.

How are you spacing those 3-4 PTs out? Are they new PTs?Gluteus wrote:Purchased the LGs from PTs 1-39 ordered by difficulty.

If they are new, I would advise cutting that load in half and focusing more on comprehensive blind review. Quality over quantity with the LSAT. You want to be scoring a few points higher than your target score to account for potential test day score drop.
Good luck - let us know how it goes.

Counterpoint:
I think the "quality over quantity" mantra vastly undersells the importance of quantity. More exposure to the test is always better. And the same is true of in-depth review. So in an ideal world, you should aim for both quality and quantity.
Churning through PTs without review is a bad idea. But so is taking too few PTs. So throw caution to the wind, and do it all. YOLO.*
*Or, you know, three times within a two year period.

I agree with BP Ben here. LSAT prep is a "study harder, not smarter" scenario. The point is to expose yourself to enough material that neural plasticity works its magic and you get good at recognizing the patterns that come up repeatedly. You can sort of optimize that to some extent, but there's no replacement for just putting in the hours. Getting a top LSAT score is more like running a marathon than acing a tricky final.

Just to be clear, I'm saying you should study harder AND smarter. But I definitely agree with the marathon training analogy.RZ5646 wrote:I agree with BP Ben here. Run the miles, do the work. The 99th %ile is less a measure of aptitude than it is a measure of fitness.
