Today I did a lil drilling and then did Chapter 20 + 21 of the trainer, going to go over some wrong answers from the other day and watch 7sage LG explanations/velocity LR explanations and check out manhattan forums for LR as well.
In Chapter 21 I did well on the games (-0) but got caught up on the second game and it basically killed my time for the rest of the section. Again games have always been the area I feel like I can still improve on and I want to clear things up more before I get to Chapter 26 and do the rest of the LG section in the trainer.
So I'm wondering if I should I spend a day or more to go back and re-do Lessons 10-15 (the LG games lessons) and the drills BEFORE I get to Lesson 26?
In Chapter 20 I went -1 on LR but also took too long to complete the questions. One thing that caught my eye is that my timing issues could possibly be because I'm overly cautious about each part before moving on to the next question. Aside from finishing the trainer schedule—that way I can stop saying "well duh I didn't get that question right, I haven't even done that question type yet"—and learning/drilling any question type that gives me difficulty, to get timing down I was wondering what your thoughts were on the following:
1.) To start timing out individual LR questions more? I did this at the beginning then got away from it, but I'm realizing that I often take way too long on an individual question (like just doing the math 1.5 mins for each question = 37 mins, and obviously there isn't enough time to finish the section if every question takes me that long, which I know it shouldn't)
2.) To make sure I can do an individual LR section in 35 mins or less? Ideally I'll be finishing sections in 30 mins so that at the 5 min call I can use that time to go back etc. vs right now where when time is called I still have 4/5 questions that I didn't even get to)—but right now I know one step at a time.
3.) If I'm not finishing individual sections in time, should I wait on taking another PT until I can? I'm hesitant on not yet taking more PTs because of the time left before the December exam but I also don't want to waste them if I can get more from drilling the different sections right now until I'm consistently finishing them in time.
Again my last PT after Blind Review had a difference of 11 points (155 timed, 166 blind review) mostly because of questions I wasn't able to answer in time originally and I was thinking about a few pages back when someone mentioned taking an individual RC passage and timing it for 7 mins just to get quicker at the whole section so that's where I got the thought of trying something similar for LG/LR.
