I have actually applied to law school's successfully if that counts. Plus, my UG makes psych majors take a class on making resumes because they don't expect us to get jobs without a lot of legwork. Otherwise, I'm probably uselesslittlewing67 wrote:I had someone look over my resume, but I am a little unsure about the changes they made. Anyone here really good at law school resumes and can give the before and after a look? PM me plz

More just a cherry on the top of the general asshattery they've been pulling. I called them several times this week about visiting and how I want to speak to someone. They said I could come in any time today and before noon works great to speak to an adcomm member.
I get a hotel near DC. I schlep to the business school. Further schlep to the law school. I get there at 10:30ish and it turns out their adcomm people are doing last minute planning and no one can see me until after the session but I'm welcome to go on it for an hour and ask questions after... it's just this kind of stuff gives me very little faith in their administrative staff and caring at all about their students. Extraordinarily unprofessional, IMO.

Yea, I'd be pissed. Kind of shows you a glipse of dealing with their admin for 3 years.34iplaw wrote:More just a cherry on the top of the general asshattery they've been pulling. Yeah. It's not even money wasted on the hotel and fares, it's the fact I could of had another day at Duke. Just shitty. I'm definitely going to mention that it bothered me.

Don't fall into what I think could be coined as the "stego thread curse" of conflating adcomms with a law school. Based on my superficial knowledge, Georgetown has its strengths and weaknesses in terms of administration and outcomes, but as a student who is already admitted, their adcomms' perceived lack of congeniality is not a relevant criticism at this point.34iplaw wrote:More just a cherry on the top of the general asshattery they've been pulling. I concede that adcomms could be indicative of the administration's quality, but this incident was not egregious in my opinion. It seems like a minor oversight. You may disagree, but I equate this with being disenchanted with NYU because you're a guy and they accidentally sent you an email about that NYU ASW women's event (which actually happened to many people recently). These are minor things, and while you could argue that they are a microcosm of an underlying cause for concern, I think there are more important considerations. And I certainly don't think noting such disenfranchisement in a scholly negotiation will engender a desirable response from the LS.Alexandros wrote:Idk, I agree, but it still probably gives some insight into the administration - the quality of which ought to be at least a small factor. I've had to deal with mine plenty in UG for important things, and I imagine the same would be true for LS. Not near the most important point, but still relevant when choosing between similar schools.Anon-e-miss wrote:Don't fall into what I think could be coined as the "stego thread curse" of conflating adcomms with a law school. Also, GULC is looking pretty sketchy in other regards. I don't think 34 was saying he was or wasn't going there for that reason alone, but it's natural to be annoyed. (Especially when comparing them to options that are objectively much better...)
TLDR: I understand that LS bureaucracy can be off-putting, but we should not miss the forest for the trees.

Hey all, new here. Well, sorta. Been a lurker for 4 years and finally deciding to sit down and study.
Just finished my third or fourth full length PT since I've started studying in the past few weeks and I think I'm toast for the next few hours. What do y'all do to relax after a full-length test?

I don't listen to music while studying for the LSAT, although I usually do so when studying for tests or writing papers. So, I like to chill out and listen to some music or have a couple of drinks with friends. Sometimes I try to read leisurely, but typically my mind isn't interested in reading, especially if I am PTing or drilling LG/RC that daysev wrote:Hey all, new here. Well, sorta.
