Are many of you taking in February also applying for this cycle and hoping to start in the Fall 2015 class?

Well guys, I was in the middle of my 4th section (RC) when an adcomm called me from a school I applied to (I dont wanna out them just in case they're lurking) and I obviously can't focus on LSAT after news like that! Might actually have a celebratory cider or two tonight

Fall 2015 or bust. Hoping it will help for scholarships/waitlist. Not stopping adcomms from evaluating in meanwhile since December score is passable.

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
Finally finished BR for PT66 that I took yesterday.
Score Breakdown:
RC: -4/-2
LR: -5/-1
LG: -1/-1
LR: -3/-2
----
I'm noticing that most of my LR mistakes are aggregated towards the "easier" level of difficulty. I really don't know what to make of this. One theory is that maybe I'm just so used to the more difficult format of the LR stim, when I see a easy argument its so obvious that it throws me off? But this really doesn't help me on how I should approach these question types.. lol
Any opinions/advice?

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
I make ridiculous LR mistakes far too often on easy questions. I think I'm usually flustered or intimidated going into LR, so I've been trying to warm up beforehand with a game to build up my confidence and get myself prepared. Not any real substantive advice but I totally feel you! That said I also make a number of mistakes with hard LR questions..but this week I've definitely noticed my mistakes are on easy-medium questions.kang wrote:Finally finished BR for PT66 that I took yesterday.

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
IMO, I would have to say the challenge for each section is the time limit. To overcome this I had to learn the basics and master it, untimed. Afterwards I added the time pressure. We probably need to do this with the RC as well - I didn't do this first step for RC b/c I was being very arrogant and believed that I knew how to read. I know the real thing is so close and trying to practice without the time limit seems like a luxury you can't afford, but I think we're just burning through perfectly good passages without learning the basics of the RC.zacboro wrote:Just finished today's prep. Scored a 168 scaled, 178 BR. I'm definitely going to start warming up LR more, with a PT I took earlier this week my first LR section was -4, while my second was -0, today my first LR section was -5, and my second was -0... I've just been putting an extra LG section at the beginning of my PTs and have been using that as a mental warmup but I think I'm going to put an extra LR section at the front for warmup instead... Also, in RC today I went -7 / -1 BR... This week my RC scores have ranged from -3 to -8... but all of my BR scores for RC for this week have been -1 / with one day being a -2. I know at least for LR BR shows potential, is this true for RC? Or is it not because most of the challenge for RC is the time limit...
This entire test is about figuring out the patterns, IMO. Despite my own post a while back, there ARE patterns in RC. It just takes a lot longer to figure out. I used your method with the whole highlighting thing and I think it helped me. I took it one step further though. I used a different color to highlight different types of questions and its respective answers. For example, all the "according to the passage" or "The passage contains..." would be one color, while the inference questions such as "it can be inferred..." or "The information most likely supports.." in a different color. It helps you see how the passage tends to be written.

Do you think the warm up has helped your LR score? I noticed that in my first LR section most of my mistakes were before #15. I could probably use the warmup... lolbrusselsprouts wrote:I make ridiculous LR mistakes far too often on easy questions. Is it plausible to get the applications in by the end of january and get accepted still? looking a bit lower tier schools, with average LSAT score, better than average GPAlokikoala wrote:Smallville wrote:a majority are looking at next cycle, though I believe there are a few going this cyclenewkid wrote:Are many of you taking in February also applying for this cycle and hoping to start in the Fall 2015 class?
