Blasphemy. I will fight you to the death on this issue. ;|

I got a pretty solid score using Mirado Black Warriors, and am a firm believer that they're the best drugstore option for those who can't order online and/or drop a crazy amount of money on pencils.

I think this thread could be a bit more organized: What pencils are best for what section of the LSAT? Fill it out.

I think I might go with this line-up:

RC: Tri-conderoga
LG: Pentech
WS: Tri-conderoga

Sorry if this has already been covered, but does anyone know how many pencils we are allowed to bring to the LSAT?

Thanks!

This isn't very informative (just did it for fun) but thought I'd post it here:

I wonder if we'll be able to pinpoint TLSers during the LSAT based on their choice of writing utensil.
I am totally going to be scoping for Palominos. "Oh, you have a Blackwing? I can see you mean srs bsns"

I realize a long point is generally the better point, especially on LG and maybe RC, but does anyone prefer shorter points for LR? It seems to dull a bit and make bubbling very easy and slightly quicker.

I use a sharp point throughout LR, then grab a dull point pencil and bubble after I'm done with all the Qs.

Bold strategy. You must do well in LR.

Hi guys,

I just want to say that the General Semi-Hex is an excellent pencil. IMO, even better than the Palomino HB. I think I'll be using it for the entire graded portion of the test, and then switch to a Blackwing for writing.

Here's a review from Pencil Revolution:

You have to know you're going to get through the whole thing with time to spare to bubble everything in. It probably does make sense and saves time, but I don't know if I could feel comfortable risking running out of time.

Well, I always stop and bubble what I've got so far at the five minute mark. I just am usually done by the five minute mark. But yeah, I would not wait up until the last minute to bubble. Pretty confident, not *that* confident.

Yesterday I learned about the Faber-Castell Blackwing 602s. Did you guys know they still sell for $20+ per pencil on ebay?

Probably as many as will fit in your plastic bag. LSAC just says "pencils".
This is correct. I brought literally atleast 20 pencils....used the same one the entire test

I lost my box of Palomino HBs.. it was still half full. :(

Luckily I have another half full backup box waiting in my apartment back at school, so I know I have pencils for test day, but the pencils I'm currently PTing with are about three inches long at this point (thanks, Kum long point!). Think I'm going to need to buy yet another box... think I'll go with orange this time.

On another note, anyone find out if the Palomino Pearl is HB equivalent or not?

Condolences on losing your Palomino HBs, they're a damn good pencil and they deserved a better end than that.

On the question about the Pearl, I'm fairly certain that they are going to be darker than the 602. According to --LinkRemoved--, they are between the plain and the 602 in terms of hardness and from other posts on this topic, the 602 is the closest thing to HB. I think i might pick up a box just to check them out, because testing pencils and trying to find the perfect LSAT pencil is what excites me, and that is where I am with my life right now.

they are excellent. the only thing i don't like about them is that the lead goes away pretty darn quickly.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
