I do particularly well on passages I'm actually interested in.

I just don't really feel like Blueprint did this for me.
The Manhattan RC book is coming in tomorrow; several people on here recommend it.
Coming out or you are receiving it? If it's out, I'll go get a copy. I'm actually debating getting a tutor for RC. I think that a good tutor could probably watch me do a section and comment on general strategies. #problemsofa171forasplitterthatIwouldnthavehadifiwenttocollegewiththeintentionofbecomingalawyer.

Also, totally read over that line until Mikey quoted it. I guess that is evidence I must pay more careful attention to every line.

I meannnnnn, I had the intention of going to law school when I started college. Maintained a 4.0 my freshman year, and during Sophomore year I was like "EHH I can live with a few shitty grades and I don't really give a shit anymore, I'll still end up in lawl skewl". So you can always have a "IDGAF" mentality imo no matter what so don't feel bad that you screwed up in college because you didn't have the intention of going into lawl!

I've decided to go to law school only in my 3rd year of uni, sadly the first 2 years of not giving a single fuck have already taken their toll by then...but tbf even if I've decided to take law before I started uni I would have wasted my first 2 years anyway. :P

The new edition is pretty recent. I didn't know about it until about two weeks ago.
I bought an older version for LR, but yeah, the newer RC is available for $40 on Amazon.

Feel that. :| I had my life totally planned out, not involving law at all(or an amazing gpa.) Fast-forward 9 months and I'm sitting here in a front of a 3 ft high stack of LSAT books questioning everything. :|

Lol, tbh I do better towards the end of the LSAT, so if this works I'm gonna do a 3 section warmup the day of the test.
How early are you planning on starting? I was thinking about maybe doing a longer warm-up but time before the test is limited, and I wouldn't want to be rushed.

Lol like 5am.

Why can't this test just be 16 logic games?

Just got a 173 on the first test. Taking a lunch break, then going back at it. Last test was frustrating, because I was 1 question away from a 175.

They just want to watch our souls burn.

I wonder what the examiners thinks when they writes dem tests: "Ah yes, we shall use this quintuple stack linear game with Greek alphabet variable names to make them really work for that 150, *cue evil laugh*"

Yeah, that is why IMO it is easier than the LSAT to get a decent score on. However, the thing is it isn't something just anyone is going to pick up books and study for, not at least without having to learn all the basics. And the MCAT doesn't have trick questions if you know what I mean. However, to get the equivalent of a 170+ on, I think it would be much more difficult in some ways.

The MCAT tests understanding of concepts in Organic Chem, General Chem, Physics, and Biology. It also has a written portion. I actually took it, maybe it's because I didn't prepare properly, but as far as difficulty, it completely shits on the LSAT. I've seen people refer to the LSAT as the "Everest" of standardized tests. If that's true, the MCAT is Olympus Mons.
Yeah, I agree partly and took it in 2014, so I don't remember as vividly the stress of prepping to take it, so it is quite possible I've forgotten. I have a knack for standardized tests and the LSAT has been a bit more tough for me. I found the MCAT to feel more like I was studying for finals or something. I found comfort in knowing that I *knew* exactly what I needed to know. On the LSAT it always feels like I could be tricked and whatnot.

I suck at math, so the physics was where I needed the most work.

I took the GRE two years ago and I felt similarly. You either knew the answers or you didn't and that was that...definitely less tricky questions. Although, I personally think that makes the LSAT more learnable in a "short" amount of time.

Then again...I'm really terrible with math. I'm really happy I don't have to do math.

Anyone else in this thread damn near out of fresh PTs? they are only 4 preptests I havent done yet so I'm spreading them out over the next four weeks and will prolly take the last one (PT78) that last saturday before the LSAT. In between though all I really have to use is old PTs which suck cuz I always remember the most difficult questions. Ive noticed too that the LR from PTs 50 and earlier is wayyy easier than the recent exams.

MCAT definitely seems to be just more about putting in massive amounts of hours to know and understand all the material vs the LSAT where you are actually training your brain to think a certain way

Yeah that's the only difference I see between the two, they're both difficult in their own ways in which one requires a different way of thinking and analyzing. While the other is about intensely knowing your shit within the hard sciences division, and of course knowing how to read for their reading section, lol.

Got all the RC and LG from the 40s on queue for the printer, so I'll have some fresh material. The plan's to do a PT every other day for the next week. In between, intense drilling - 3 sections of each but I should be able to do more if I use my time wisely. Gonna try to be rolling (ie have woken up, showered, had breakfast) by 6am every day and uber early bedtimes. Let's do this. :)

Very true! I think the biggest differences are rooted in the fact that more likely than not if you are taking the MCATs you have some sort of hard science background. There's also a TON of more shit to know for the MCAT! The sheer amount alone makes it another beast when compared to the LSAT. The LSAT is like 20 different LR questions, a grouping, sequencing, or hybrid games, and one of the several types of RC passages. The fundamentals are simple enough I think anyone can learn them. It is the mastery and cultivation of the skills that is what takes time.

I think the MCAT is a test that you are more reviewing for rather than learning Ogro for the first time.

Just dropped a spicy 175 on PT64 (-1/-2 LR, -2LG, -2 RC). Still haven't hit a full-up 180 yet, but this makes three in a row 175+ (177, 178, 175). Now my plan is to eat all the cot damn ice cream in the house.

I deserve this--don't judge me!
