I've never said no to a glass of any year of Laphroaig. That said, I too prefer bourbon.schmelling wrote:Any scotch enthusiasts ITT?

If i'm drinking it neat, Gentleman Jack has always been my preferred bourbon. Buffalo Trace and Makers Mark also sit pretty high up there for me.

Four Roses small batch is my go to for bourbon. I'm a much bigger beer drinker (my username is my favorite beer) than a bourbon or scotch drinker.thatlawlkid wrote:If i'm drinking it neat, Gentleman Jack has always been my preferred bourbon. This is so me, Schmell! I used to hate IPAs and red wines. Now those are my favorite. Palate adjustments are exciting. I also used to hate Gin. But now I really enjoy G&Ts.schmelling wrote:Beer and Wine have made me realize that the tastes I most enjoy were the most difficult to acquire. Beer tasted horrible to me the first time I tried it and now I love tasting different styles and brews. Wine was the same way. Now I'm giving it a try with whisky. The Abyss wrote:Four Roses small batch is my go to for bourbon. What's a good starter whisky? I'd like to fully embrace the grandpa that I am.

Shak just start out with basic whiskey drinks, Whiskey sours and whiskey gingers. That'll ease ya into the taste. Past that try the varieties; Bourbons, Tennessee Whiskey, Irish Whiskey. Scotch you can move on to later once the taste is more acquired.

For a scotch maybe a Macallan 12 Sherry if you like wine. It will be more fruity and delicate and less peat smoke.Shakawkaw wrote:This is so me, Schmell! I used to hate IPAs and red wines. IPAs are one of my favorite styles as well, but beer nirvana is BBA Stouts and Sours.

I want my score and I want it now. This is your last warning, LSAC. Keep it up and I'm taking my business elsewhere
