Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS (Score Release Poll is up!!)
Emory, UGA, UIUC, SMU, Baylor, GSU and Mercer. I'll most likely go to school and practice in Georgia, and I'm ok with that. Outside of Emory, all of the Georgia schools are either a bargain (GSU and UGA) or I'd expect a significant scholarship (Mercer). From the looks of it, Mercer seems to be a much better school than its ranking indicates, and is pretty well thought of within the state. There's also a good chance that I retake in June or October and apply next cycle. Friday can't come soon enough.MEAhrnsbrak wrote:So the last time the test was taken on Saturday, December 6th and the scores were supposed to be back on Monday, January 5th, the scores were actually released on Monday, December 29th. I'm going to finish all of my applications today, so I will be ready to press submit on the second my score comes out. If I can't control my score today, at least I can control my applications!
My application list Cornell, UVA, Duke, Northwestern, Georgetown, Emory, BU, Fordham.
If my score is high enough I'll add Columbia and NYU.
What is everybody else's list?

well thats unfortunate. is it true that they mandate 65% to be instate? talk about instate boost..Dirigo wrote:Probably not. I'd say no. Particularly if you aren't planning on winding up in Texas.cavalier2015 wrote:sorry for the messages but looking for opinion on the following thing: is texas worth applying to (with NO previous ties whatsoever) if i am OOS and between their 25th - 50th GPA. not sure of LSAT but lets say at median or slightly below

well i wouldn't mind the low cost of living and the whole no income tax thing. but yeah after hearing 65% of class is instate, i feel like its not worth my money (unless i somehow kill my LSAT)peger wrote:I'd say no. good point. UVA has a 40% instate preference, pretty bad but not AS bad as texas. does Michigan have a similar thing? and i'm pretty sure the UCs too, right?

If you have a fee waiver, apply. Its employment #'s are basically the same as Georgetown. Texas ain't a bad state. I've never been there but I'd go to UT Austin if I get in with some money. I'd go to Texas.
And yeah ties help but seriously just do well in school, study hard, get a nice fitted $1k suit, and practice a charming smile. Develop a sense of humor and empathy, and connect on a personal level with interviewers. Get a job. Done.

I said develop a sense of empathy and connect with interviewers on a personal level, not speak condescendingly to them and act like a total jackass.cavalier2015 wrote:ok harvey spectorPeanutsNJam wrote:

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS (Score Release Poll is up!!)
i remember looking at one of the threads and someone found a link that depicted the instate boost at UVA. this was a 2008/09 pool so its probably more disproportional now. the stat was like the OOS accepted stats were a 3.7/170 and the instate was a 3.52/164.
