Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
I use/love manhattan, although I feel that many times they use formal logic when its not warranted at all. Like, they use formal logic for literally half of the LR questions, when I probably use it 2 or 3 times a section.
Its free though so its definitely worth checking out. I think a huge underrated part of those forums are the RC explanations. Straight and to the point. They outline the passages and pinpoint each line the answers are on, while also pinpointing the lines where you could be misled to a wrong AC.

I'm getting far more consistent at -6 for RC (which I'm comfortable with, btw). I'll probably stick to focusing on games and LR more. If I can get LR to -7, I'll be where I wanna be.

Just started studying for my October retake. Should I start by re-reading the Manhattan books/Trainer or buy 7sage and start going through their curriculum?

I mean you are retaking... so you still could buy a courseDirigo wrote:Up to you. Personally I don't think 7sage is that strong for LR & RC but others ITT swear by it. Look into Velocity. If I could do it over and buy a course, I'd probably choose Velocity.
JY and Dave Hall have different styles so watch sample videos and choose whoever you click with more.

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
I credit J.Y.'s LG strategies for my -1 on test day, and I really like his style and his explanations. I really need 7sage for LR and RC and i've heard nothing but good things about it. 7sage is also $179 including 10 tests I don't currently have compared to the $450 LR package and $600 course offered by Dave Hall.Dirigo wrote:Up to you. If anyone wants to help figure out why I keep going -5 on LR that'd be awesome... It isn't timing. I finish sections in 32 min or less. And it isn't specific ?'s either, it's like a different question stem for all 5. IDk what to drill to fix it honestly

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
What's everyone's take on the benefit of using older PTs? My problem is that I am approaching my 3rd take this Feb, and I believe have already taken all of 40-74 in my many months of studying. I am going to try and figure out if there are any I missed, but pretty sure I hit them all.
I took PT 33 today, and scored my best ever score of 174 (I usually am in the high 160s). The caveat here is that I know I already saw the 2nd game (grosbeaks, harriers, etc) so flew through this one. And as I understand it, earlier PTs are a bit easier (esp. in LR) - is this the general consensus?
I am wondering if anyone is in a similar predicament and could offer advice. I guess since I only took most of the PTs once, odds are I won't remember all the answers, particularly from early on in my prep.
I suppose if nothing else a 174 is a good confidence boost for me, but I would love to see how I am actually progressing on a more recent, and difficult, test.
