Found the memo: http://www.americanbar.org/content/dam/ ... eckdam.pdf

Will watch where this goes, but painfully ironic that the top GPA band is proposed to be split between -3.67 / 3.68+. feel my opportunity at top schools being mocked :) ... college GPA was 3.84, but predicting that a repeated class and NC grade on internship credits for an internship that ended up not happening my senior year will bring me down to a LDAS calculated GPA of 3.67

By the way, checking in ...

purchased PowerScore bibles, SuperPrep and several preptest books ... now evaluating if/which Interactive On-line prep/tracker to purchase in order to keep me honest on schedule.

Passed CPA exam on first attempt with insane dedication to prep of course ... (this was several years ago btw; I must be in the running for the oldest guy here). I "expect of myself" to do well enough to overcome disappointment with anticipated LSDAS calculation of GPA. But this is obviously a different animal.

I know I don't want an in-person prep class (from experience with CPA prep, too many basic questions divert from pace), and travel prevents effective tutoring ... and doubt it would be the right value for me, so that brings me to the on-line/interactive option ...

1) I've read the main on-line prep threads regarding options, and whittling down to:
* Manhattan - based on trial, not too much deviation from PowerScore approach so wouldn't feel it would complicate/confuse progress so far
* Velocity (for LG at least) - this does appear to be a deviation from approach above, but at least from the sample videos appears REALLY efficient, but I am trying to imagine how this approach could translate to more complicated scenarios. Dave Hall seems up my alley in terms of delivery based on what I sampled, but my hesitation is difficulty in visualizing how multi-dimensional diagrams would shape up with that approach.
- Anyone in this group tackled the choices for on-line prep options and have suggestions?
2) Also, anyone studying in the DFW area that may want to collaborate on prep at some stage?

Good luck all !
Vincent

I did one in-person prep class and it wasn't super helpful. All the studying I've done since is self-study using the LSAT Trainer, Manhattan LSAT books, 7sage for LG, Cambridge packets for LR and older PTs for RC. If I had to pick an online course I'd choose between 7sage and Manhattan because those two are the ones I'm most familiar with and comfortable with.

I'm 28 and Pozzo's older than me, so don't worry about being an oldie :D
Thanks chicharon ... not worried yet :) ... I don't doubt worry will be in my future at some point in this process !

Anyone else notice how the June LSAT is slowly but surely creeping up on us? It's a little scarry!!

Just saw the post that the Feb. LSAT is in 6 weeks...

the MSS questions got me a week behind my prepschedule.. BUT my schedule had 1.5 weeks following PT's.. Soo, I should be fine as long as I can get the MSS down in a few days.. I swear this question type is the bane of my existence. Wish I could just hit the MSS lucky bone or something..

How is everyone else's prep going? Outside of cheer, joy, and Christmas celebrations..

Watching sample videos from 7sage now and sure looks good ... and can't beat the price options. Only catch is that membership doesn't come with preptests, where Manhattan come with all past test as part of the price.

I finally hit -0 today for the very first time ever on LG! Alleluia! The only downside was that I allowed myself a 41 minute timer and used every second because I failed to find the inference on Game 3 until midway through. :( I Have added 53-2-3 to my inventory of games I plan on drilling 20 times starting March 1st to the weekend before the test. Starting in January, I am going to give myself 38 minutes, to complete each timed section, each month shaving off 90 seconds to (hopefully) be around 31 minutes for my LG section come test day. I've heard-tell from many of the high scorer threads that it is always good to finish sections with a minute or so to spare to account for the possibility that the proctor makes a timing error and to mentally rest/sharpen your pencils.

The remaining 3 hours before work today I am going to read the Trainer and drill some light-SA questions.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

P.S.-I have much more work to do with LG and the test in general. Now is not the time to slow down, it just feels good to have my accuracy starting to fall in line with the timer :)

You're back!!

Also, Rigo, this tar change - though incredibly reflective of how you look IRL - is really throwing me off. I used to skim through with a grinch in mind.

For all the retakers - given the "long" time between now and D-Day, how are you planning your schedules?
