The "potential for changes" is just the possibility of throwing out a flawed question or one with no predictive value. The changes will NOT be because of a skewed/non-representative test-taking population at a certain administration because the whole point of equating is to make all administrations equal, so that scores from different tests are comparable. Individual administrations do not have a test-taking body that is representative of the whole, so a curve based upon that group would make NO sense and admissions committees wouldn't be able to compare scores from different administrations.

So technically, the test takers from the upcoming October test could all score 170+?

If you found 60,000+ people who could get ~90%+ of the questions right, then I guess so...

I think we would be better off finding 50,000 or so people who can score ridiculously low. Then they might drop some more questions, leading to a higher score for you and me.

Yo Jaydizzle, sorry I missed your IM. I was at work so I got pulled away for an hour or so.

Anyone think it's a good/bad idea to take a break from LSAT prep for a few days? I'd like to take a week or so to hammer out my PS.

I've basically been on break for 2 weeks now haha. I really need to actually do work these next two months. I don't feel like pushing back to December, I really want to apply for this cycle.

If I am planning on applying with my October scores, should I start my PS and other essays soon? My score will obviously determine if I am going in this cycle and what schools I should apply to. Right now I have no idea what will happen. I am going to get recs no matter what right when school starts, or I might send out some emails soon asking.

You can still apply after the December administration. Though I wouldn't recommend it.

retaking the LSAT this October and am trying to hit 165. I've read through the entire lg bible and am 1/2 way through the lr bible. I'm also planning on going through the rc bible - has anyone used this and did you find it useful?

My biggest thing right now is getting over the June 10 disappointment. I know it's wrong but I get mad whenever I see someone who is positive about this process and got a good score. It's like I just get frustrated all over again. Tomorrow is my first prep test since the exam. We'll see....I've done minimal studying.

Anyone interested in being an online study partner? I took a prep class so I am now just doing self study and PT's (2 a week, took PT 25 most recently). My range is 164-174, I can usually knock out the games and most of the LR save for the very difficult ones, my RC comp skills are what is killing me usually.

If someone thinks that they are approximately where I am at and is interested in improving together with me online, PM me. I am taking the Oct exam in LA, at Pepperdine.

I'm finishing up the LGB, and I hope it's just the book petering out and not me because I don't really like the advanced techniques chapter. It feels a bit redundant.

I read all three and found jewels of information in all. . .ultimately they just give you ideas and you have to customize to your own technique. . .but they are all helpful.

1st time poster!!!

I am hoping to take the LSAT this October but i am getting stuck on weaken questions. I understand that the correct answer choice will generally attack the conclusion of the stimulus and i so-so get the idea behind weakening a stimulus which contains causal reasoning... but what about conditional reasoning? I have found that a vast majority of the weaken questions i have encountered have some conditionality in them (if....then statements) and i typically miss those when asked to weaken it. Is there a way to correctly weaken a conditional statement, or is the conditionality generally irrelevant in weakening and the correct answer choice lies in the conclusion?

I really hate those kinds of games! Like the ones that ask you to change a pattern twice or three times and if it's been changed once could x be here with y or is there no t or whatever.. Like the flasks question or the stupid harvesters doing their silly little ceremonies.

quick question, is anyone using the Logic Game Bible Workbook? I was planning to order one but wanted to see if anyone found it helpful

I just did Preptest #19 timed, and scored a 168. -3LR, -4LR, -4RC, -2LG. I finished everything within the time limits, and without feeling rushed (okay a little rushed on the last LG, but finished with 2 minutes to look stuff over). Freaking RC... there was one passage where I knew I was just dying on. I can get 3/4 passages easily and know exactly what and then 1 (well, sometimes 2) just foul me up so badly. This one was the silly passage about why there are more species in zones around the equator than the pole. It was nice to start off with a literature passage on P.D. James, though, lol, especially considering I actually knew what the passage was talking about.

I'm excited for my LR Bible to get here. I think I need some tips and tricks for LR... I want to cut down total mistakes in LR to 4, and right now I'm getting 4 wrong on ONE LR section.

Half of my missed questions were on logic games, so I'm gonna be working on getting that down to a science. Also, any advice on what outside materials I should be using to supplement the prep class (I'm defintely going to pick up the logic games bible)?

I always say a ten point increase is a good goal (although mine is 11)
